About The Role
As a key member of our State Leadership Team, you will be a natural leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, dedicated to prioritising customer relationships and enhancing their experience with Rexel. In this hands-on role, you will foster a culture of collaboration and excellence, ensuring that our sales team is fully equipped to meet and exceed customer needs.
Leading from the front, this is a key hands-on role, responsible for the mentorship and development of your team.
You will actively engage with customers in the field, understanding their challenges and requirements, and guiding your team to deliver exceptional service and tailored solutions that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. Your focus will be on building lasting partnerships with customers, ensuring they receive the highest level of support and service from Rexel. Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement a customer-focused state sales strategy that drives sales and margin growth, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends
- Regularly review and analyse the team’s customer portfolio to maintain an optimal mix of Growth, New, Reactivate, and Keep customers, ensuring that targets are met while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the sales team effectively communicates and sells the concept of multi-access points to Rexel, including branch, Webstore, email, and phone, to enhance customer convenience and engagement.
- Lead the sales skill development of the team, emphasizing Rexel Sales Excellence techniques that focus on understanding and addressing customer needs.
- Conduct Performance and Development Reviews with each team member, along with regular field coaching sessions, to enhance their ability to connect with customers and improve overall performance.
- Use CRM as the primary tool for tracking customer interactions and team performance, ensuring data-driven insights are leveraged to enhance customer engagement and sales strategies.
- Work closely with the State General Manager and suppliers to develop innovative offers that resonate with customer needs, enabling the sales team to present compelling solutions.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key suppliers to drive sales and profit growth, ensuring that customer needs are met with high-quality products and services.

- Proven experience at senior management level with a successful track record in sales and business growth across a multi-site network.
- Minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience, particularly in key strategic account development using a solution sales approach.
- Experience leading successful sales teams with a strong focus on mentoring and coaching.
- Ability to manage performance standards, address performance issues decisively, and provide guidance for improvement.
- Experience in wholesaling, trades, or the building/construction industry – desirable.
