Wonderful to see one of our incredible Nepal #DFATbpp partnerships showcased in the latest edition of AquaCulture Asia Pacific recently! It highlights how the partnership between Shreenagar Agritech Industries Ltd., Science Technology Engineering Maths Social Enterprise Learning (STEMSEL Foundation), ThinkAqua and the Australian Government has made a considerable impact on the local Nepalese fish market since launching in October 2021 as a response to COVID-19. Since then, they've introduced new technologies to improve fish production, delivered training to build the capacity of local farmers and connected them with finance and technology solutions to boost their access to market. A key focus has also been empowering local women farmers to increase their participation and enrich the local market. 🔎 Read all about it here - starting from page 45: https://lnkd.in/gABRKEfx The partnership has recently closed and we're looking forward to sharing their impact and insights soon! 🔗 Find out more about the partnership: https://lnkd.in/g8BN7dJ6

🚀 Huge congratulations to the six women-led agribusinesses in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta that have successfully pitched for up to VND 1 billion (AUD 60,000) each to scale their businesses as part of #Deltaccelerate! 🚀 Deltaccelerate is Vietnam’s first accelerator of its kind, providing tailored training, mentoring and funding to 14 agribusinesses that empower women and enhance the Mekong Delta's resilience to climate adaptation since launching in April 2024. It's made possible by a #DFATBpp partnership between the Australian Government and New Energy Nexus Vietnam. The six successful businesses were selected following a competitive Pitch Day - they include: 🌟 Cocovie: capturing the global cosmetic market with climate-resilient coconut oils from Ben Tre 🌟 VICOSAP: reviving ancient Khmer farming practices to create tasty treats that tackle climate adaptation in Tra Vinh 🌟 Palmania JSC: creating healthy, organic products from palmyra trees using sustainable farming methods rooted in An Giang province’s indigenous Khmer knowledge. 🌟 NetZero Pallet: transforming biomaterials, including coconut waste from the Mekong Delta, into zero-carbon pallets that optimise global green supply chain logistics 🌟 Ba Khía Đầm Dơi: preserving mangrove ecosystems and boosting livelihoods in Cau Mau through sustainable seafood 🌟 Ecoka: producing eco-friendly handicrafts with climate-resilient bulrush from Hau Giang to homes around the world. Wishing them all the very best as they scale their businesses to make an even greater impact in their communities and beyond! 🔗 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/g-CB6Z4T #NEXVN #Newenergynexusvietnam #MekongDelta

🌍 Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities! 🌍 At the BPP, we’re proud to highlight the power of disability-inclusive businesses. It just makes good business sense - here’s why: 🔹 1 in 6 people globally live with a disability, and many more will experience one at some point in their lives. 🔹 Companies committed to disability inclusion see, on average, 28% higher revenue and 30% higher profit margins, according to a 2018 study by Accenture. 🔹 Excluding people with disabilities can cost countries 3-7% of annual GDP, according to the International Labour Organisation. Inclusive businesses aren’t just doing good - they’re thriving, offering: ✨ More innovation ✨ Higher employee morale ✨ Access to a broader, more diverse talent & supplier pool. A great example of this is Orijem Timor in Timor-Leste, one of our #DFATbpp partnerships. Together with Kape Diem Coffee Lab, 1LM and the Australian Government, Orijem Timor is not only bringing their award-winning specialty coffee to the world but also making the global coffee value chain more inclusive for people with disabilities, one cup at a time! ☕ Grab a cuppa and hear about how Orijem Timor have optimised their local coffee production to make it more inclusive: https://lnkd.in/gCZuD_3q Want to make your business more inclusive? We launched our Disability Inclusion Guide earlier this year to help businesses understand the benefits and take practical steps toward a more inclusive workplace—from employees to customers to suppliers. 🔎 Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gtnxcTh8

Remote Fijian school closing technology and energy gap with sustainable solar system 🌞📡📚 School children in Fiji’s Rabi Island can now benefit from more reliable, renewable energy and internet in their classrooms, thanks to a newly-installed solar system and satellite internet connection, launched last week. The new solar system at Buakonikai Primary School will transform students’ learning outcomes as they can now benefit from sustainable, renewable energy that keeps the lights and computers on. It’s made possible through a partnership between Its Time Foundation and the Australian Government through the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (#AIFFP) Off-Grid Renewable Energy Partnerships. The two-year partnership will see the design and development of an effective model of monitoring and maintenance for solar energy systems installed by Its Time Foundation within remote Fijian school communities, starting with Buakonikai Primary School on Rabi Island as the blueprint for other off-grid communities wanting to improve outcomes for their young people. This project is part of the Australian Government’s Pacific Climate Infrastructure Financing Partnership (PCIFP) initiative to expand the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific’s (AIFFP) climate investments. It does this by partnering with businesses to deliver reliable and sustainable renewable energy to remote and rural communities in the Pacific and Timor-Leste, implemented by the BPP. 🔍 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gpF_Jb6p #AIFFP #OffGridRenewableEnergy
