Coding for Country. 🌱 Digital women rangers are Indigenous land and sea managers who are learning and sharing how to use data and digital technologies to help care for Country. The Digital Women Ranger Program recently released their first report. It shows how the program was co-designed to enable Indigenous women to build digital skills and confidence to tell stories about country using AI and data. The program has been running since early 2022 as part of the Healthy Country AI and digital training initiative. It aims to provide on-ground digital skills that will deliver environmental, cultural, and economic benefits for local Indigenous communities and Indigenous land and sea management practitioners in remote regions of northern Australia. We're proud to be a part of the Digital Women Rangers collaboration, along with Jawoyn Association, Mimal Land Management, Warddeken Land Management Limited, Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation, Kakadu National Park, Arafura Swamp Rangers, Telstra Foundation, NESP Resilient Landscapes Hub, and Charles Darwin University.
