My wife and I, ***** with another couple, chose the Chevron Fairheavens for our Valentine's Day getaway. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations. Firstly, the hotel's location is extremely difficult to access. The approach road is incredibly steep, making walking impossible. A vehicle is absolutely essential, and even then, the incline is so severe that we were concerned our car might roll backward at times. While the hotel boasts a heritage feel with its predominantly wooden construction, the property is poorly maintained. The wood has lost its luster, and the overall impression is shabby. This, combined with the lack of an elevator, makes it unsuitable for senior citizens, as navigating the steep, creaking wooden stairs to the upper floors is challenging. Upon checking in, we discovered dirty, stained bedsheets. Furthermore, the room lacked basic amenities such as a dental kit, shampoo, and conditioner. We were informed that these are only provided upon request, a policy we found unusual and inconvenient. The creaking wooden floors were another issue. Our walking around disturbed the guests below, a ridiculous situation that essentially meant we couldn't move freely in our room. To add to our disappointment, the female receptionist was unfriendly and dismissive, even smirking when we raised our concerns about the bedsheets. The bathroom near the dining hall was also dirty and poorly maintained. The poor service extended to room service as well. Despite the advertised last order time of 10 pm, the room service boy, Devendra, insisted we eat before 9 pm as that was his closing time. He repeatedly pressured us when we placed our order and, without any prior notice, delivered the food to our room at 9:15 pm, well before we expected it, simply because he wanted to leave. With no other room service staff available, we were left with no choice but to eat then. This was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Overall, the Chevron Fairheavens is significantly overpriced for the quality of accommodation and service it offers. The poor maintenance, lack of basic amenities, and pushy, inconsiderate room service, combined with the difficult access, made it a truly disappointing experience, and I would certainly not recommend it.
