We ended up going back to Bari for accommodation. 🛏️Accommodation tips: Opposite the Bari Central Train Station, there's a place called Rossani Suites&Aparts, which is super well-located and the rooms are very clean. But remember to check the prices in advance, as they were very cheap when we went last year, but may have risen now. 🚄Transportation tips: There are trains and buses from Bari. Since there's no direct train, we chose the bus. The bus is operated by Trenitalia, and the journey takes just one hour for only 5 euros! The bus station is right at the entrance of the train station, which is very convenient. However, the bus is often crowded, so remember to get there early! There's no direct public transportation from Matera, so plan your travel in the south in advance. 📸Photo spot recommendations: 1️⃣Belvedere Terrazza Santa Lucia viewpoint, the scenery here is so beautiful it'll make you cry! And boy did we make our spend worth - ate and drank like a family of elephants. 🐘But how not to when you are offered bottomless champagne and 5 meal presentations a day? While you can find them everywhere driving in the countryside amid seas of olive trees, the ones in Alberobello are the most famous and colourful ones. Walking throughout the village you’ll find small shops with handcrafted products and souvenirs, plus delicious local products like “tarallucci”, “orecchiette”, and olive oil (probably the best olive oil you’ll ever taste in your life, as Puglia is home to more than a billion olive trees!).
