White Pagoda Temple.

Miaoying Temple, commonly known as White Pagoda Temple, is located at No. 171 Fuchengmen Inner Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. It was first built in the 16th year of the Zhiyuan period of the Yuan dynasty (1279) and rebuilt in the first year of the Tianshun period of the Ming dynasty (1457). The white pagoda in the temple is one of the earliest and largest Tibetan-style pagodas of the Yuan dynasty in China. Miaoying Temple faces south and covers an area of about 13,000 square meters. It consists of the main courtyard and the pagoda courtyard. On the central axis, from south to north, there are the mountain gate, the bell and drum towers, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Great Enlightenment, the Hall of Seven Buddhas, and the pagoda courtyard. The pagoda courtyard is 2 meters above the ground and is surrounded by red walls. There is a pavilion at each of the four corners of the courtyard, and the white pagoda is located in the center of the courtyard, slightly to the north. The plaque above the south gate of the courtyard wall reads "Imperially Built Shakyamuni Relic Lingtong Pagoda Courtyard."
