Ciqikou lanterns and streamers festival

The name "Ciqikou," meaning "port of porcelain," reflects the town's prominent role in the porcelain industry, which once thrived here. Located along the Jialing River, Ciqikou ancient town was first established during the Northern Song Dynasty and rose to prominence during the Ming Dynasty as a commercial port and market town, shipping goods by both land and water. In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, it flourished as a bustling hub for porcelain production and trade, attracting merchants and explorers from far and wide. Today, the Ciqikou ancient town continues to echo its prosperity of more than 1,000 years, with increasing number of tourists flocking to explore the hustle and bustle of Chongqing's lively atmosphere.
