Camino de Santiago Day 24 | Surprises and beauty in León.

| Surprises and beauty in León. 💤 I woke up at 8 am today because I bought a breakfast voucher and had to use it before 9 am. The €3 breakfast included coffee, juice, sandwiches, cakes, and snacks, which was a great deal🤩! I guess the whole building belongs to the church, as I saw a monk yesterday😃. We were blessed for two days in León🙏. 😋 After a full meal, the first stop was León Cathedral! Our hostel was about 500 meters from the cathedral, and there were many hostels and hotels around the cathedral. We randomly chose an alley and walked towards the spire of the cathedral. We didn't walk far before we saw a hiker in front of us who seemed to be hesitating🤔. I thought he had probably already seen the cathedral since he was leaving so late. When he passed me, I saw his yellow backpack and realized it was the American uncle🎒! He was the one who found my translator, so I quickly stopped him and took out the translator. He suddenly realized who I was, and we hugged each other happily🤗! Jianping even took a picture of us📷. I thought I wouldn't see him again. I knew he had a foot injury that day, but he told me today that he was fine, so I knew he was going to Santiago too. It was a surprise to see him again in León today🎉! Many people only walk a section of the Camino because they come from neighboring countries, so it's more convenient for them to come and go. It's like me going to Huaihai Road in Shanghai today and the Bund tomorrow, very casual. I said goodbye to several foreigners I had walked with in the past few days, and I felt a little empty inside when I thought I wouldn't see them on the road tomorrow😟, even though we didn't talk much every day, and even though they all passed me every day🏃‍♀️. 💒 León Cathedral is now mainly open for visitors because it is large and magnificent🌟! The exquisite carvings and beautiful stained glass windows are truly the treasures of León! It's hard to imagine how people in the 13th century could have done it🤩? 🏠 I visited Casa Botines, built by Gaudí between 1891 and 1894, which houses many works by Spanish painters, both old and new🎨. What surprised me the most was that when I looked out through Gaudí's arched windows, it looked like a series of oil paintings🖼️! Was the outside world beautiful, or did Gaudí's frame make it look more beautiful🤔? 😇 Today is Sunday, and there was a service at the Basilica of San Isidoro, so I went in to feel the atmosphere🙏. I also walked around Plaza de San Marcos and along the city walls, but I didn't smell the flamenco🎶.
