|Bukui Mosque: Historical Remains. Bukui Mosque was built in the 23rd year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1864). It is the largest, oldest, and most distinctive ancient building complex in Heilongjiang Province. Bukui Mosque is located in Qingzhen Hutong, Jianhua District, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, and is divided into east and west mosques. The east mosque was built by the Gedimu sect of Islam in the 23rd year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1684). It was originally five thatched houses and was expanded to its current size during the Xianfeng (1851-1861) and Guangxu (1875-1908) reigns. The west mosque was built by the Jahriyya sect in the eighth year of the Xianfeng reign (1858). It was originally four thatched houses and was rebuilt to its current size during the Guangxu reign (1875-1908). On May 25, 2006, Bukui Mosque was approved by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit as a Qing Dynasty ancient building.
