Maple trees and pavilions A great place to enjoy autumn in Shanghai—Qiuxia Garden The name "Qiuxia" comes from the poem "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng" by Wang Bo, which reads, "The setting sun and the lone bird fly together, the autumn water and the long sky are the same color," expressing the original owner's wish to "never give up on his ambitions." Qiuxia Garden is located in Jiading District, Shanghai. The main part of the garden was built in 1502. Together with Songjiang Zuibai Pond, Shanghai Yuyuan Garden, Guyi Garden, and Qingpu Qu Shui Garden, it is known as one of the five classical gardens in Shanghai. Qiuxia Garden is the oldest and best-preserved of the five. When it comes to enjoying autumn in Shanghai, Qiuxia Garden is a must-see. This small garden is filled with red leaves, making it a truly intoxicating sight. The best time to visit is around mid-November, so keep an eye out. Tickets are only CNY 5! The wall between Jiading Museum and Qiuxia Garden has been opened up, so you can enter Jiading Museum directly from Qiuxia Garden after your visit. You can also visit Zhouqiao Old Street, Jiading Confucius Temple, and Huilongtan nearby. Just don't go on weekends, as it will be too crowded. Weekday mornings are the best time to visit, with beautiful scenery and great photo opportunities!
