🚘 After playing in Lishui for five days, I passed through Shaoxing on my way back to Shanghai, so I came to this relatively niche and low-key small town again. Unexpectedly, this usually quiet millennium-old town has an unexpected New Year atmosphere. The town is the birthplace of Shaoxing rice wine, known as the 'Land of Intoxication' and 'State of Liquor', and is quite famous nationwide! 🏮 As soon as I stepped through the gates of the town, I was struck by the huge colorful dragon, the wall of lanterns, and the endless stream of tourists coming and going. It's so lively! 🏮 The town is not very large in scale, but it is rich in content. There is a rice wine museum, the well-known ancient Yue Longshan and Kuaiji Mountain wine workshops, exhibitions, the Temple of the King of Fortune, opera stages, and even the foreign-run fire brigade, which is quite an eye-opener. 🏮 Most of the attractions in the town present the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Strolling here, one can deeply feel the ancient style and cultural and artistic atmosphere of Shaoxing. 🏮 Walking along the river, the simple and beautiful scenery on both sides is dazzling. The lanterns and pleasure boats are very interesting. In front of the square of the Xingfu Marquis Changwang Temple, I saw an uncle who was in high spirits, striking the big drum with great enthusiasm and style. 🏮 There are several stinky tofu shops in the town, all with long queues. Interesting rice wine popsicles, I want to try, but dare not eat in the cold winter. There's also a matchmaking corner... 🚘 With just one phrase 'spring is not late', I have arrived at the true Jiangnan. The rice wine town is truly unique and picturesque.
