Baotong Temple in Wuhan, the most competitive royal temple for photography

Once upon a time, I have visited Baotong Temple several times, and the only impression it left me was that each hall is a scene, unlike the cramped flatness of Guiyuan Temple, especially with its back against Hongshan, with its undulating layout. Today, I visited again with friends, and the scenery remains the same, only the broken branches and withered leaves on the back mountain are still recounting the previous freezing rain and snow damage. The pagoda is now locked, and it's no longer possible to climb up for a view for just two yuan as before. 📜 About Baotong Temple Baotong Temple, the only royal temple in Wuhan, is the largest in scale and the most magnificent in halls, ranking first among the temples in Wuchang. Originally the Dahongshan Temple in Suizhou, during the Duanping period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1234-1236), Meng Gong, the administrator of Jinghu, in order to prevent the invasion of the Jin troops from the south, submitted a request to Emperor Lizong to issue a decree with gold, ordering the relocation of Dahongshan Temple to this location, and the mountain was renamed Hongshan. During the Yuan Dynasty (1280-1291), to commemorate Master Ciren, the Baotong Pagoda was built over eleven years, originally named Lingji Pagoda, and later renamed Hongshan Baotong Pagoda because it was built on Hongshan.
