In November, the golden larches on Siming Mountain in Yuyao, Ningbo, begin to change color. The colder the weather, the deeper the color. After reaching their peak beauty, the leaves fall to the ground, creating a golden carpet. Siming Mountain Town is located in the heart of Yuyao. It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Liangnong Town at the foot of the mountain to the Shiziku of Lingxi. The name "Shiziku" comes from the intersection of two mountain ridges, one running north-south and the other east-west, forming a cross shape. Navigate to Lingxi Bus Station, park your car by the roadside, and walk into Shiziku. There are many coffee carts and small shops at the entrance, with tables and chairs for visitors to rest. The loop trail from Shiziku to Shuilian Cave and Yangtian Lake and back to Shiziku is about 12 km. Including the distance back to the parking lot, the total distance is about 14 km. The elevation gain is 340 m, and the difficulty is not high. However, there are many small stones and branches on the road, so it is recommended to use trekking poles for assistance. The Shiziku forest area and Yangtian Lake are two great places for photography, so it is recommended to spend more time there. This year, the weather turned cold late, and there were two major typhoons in October. The leaves were blown off before they could turn completely yellow, so the scenery is not as good as last year. Yangtian Lake has good facilities and beautiful red maple leaves. The best time to visit is around this week. If you don't want to hike, you can drive directly to the Yangtian Lake parking lot 🅿️.
