Qu Yuan's hometown, which was relocated due to being submerged by the dam

The Qu Yuan Hometown Cultural Tourism Area is located in Maoping of the new Zigui County, adjacent to the Three Gorges Dam, focusing on the ancient residential area of the Three Gorges, which includes Qingtan Ren Village, Xiajiang Stone Carvings, and Xiajiang Ancient Bridge. A total of 24 Xiajiang ground cultural relics, represented by Qu Yuan Temple and Jiangdu Temple, were centrally relocated here, and in 2006, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit. The Qu Yuan Hometown Scenic Area is not the birthplace of Qu Yuan, but rather a relocation of the original Qu Yuan Temple to this location, along with the most characteristic Xiajiang cultural relics, together forming the Qu Yuan Hometown Cultural Tourism Area. There is a scenic ferry car that runs between the area and the Qu Yuan Temple.
