Romantic Finland
There is an icy country in Northern Europe, which attracts people from different places to visit every Christmas 🎄. I don't need to give you a hint, I believe everyone has already guessed that this country is Finland🇫🇮. In the white fairy tale world, there are Santa Claus 🎅, reindeer 🦌, and the northern lights. I believe this scene is all exciting.
The popularity of Santa Claus Village has never diminished. As long as there is innocence, adults or children will love this place.
It is extremely romantic to take a deer cart ride around Santa Claus Village with your loved one in the snowy ❄️ weather. If you're lucky that day, you won't have to wait long to see the wonderful Northern Lights. No matter how cold the weather is, accompanied by love, I immediately feel warm in my heart. ❤️💕

Suomenlinna
Suomenlinna (Finnish; until 1918 Viapori), or Sveaborg (Swedish), is an inhabited sea fortress built on eight islands about 4 km southeast of the city center of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Suomenlinna is popular with tourists and locals who enjoy it as a picturesque picnic site. Originally named Sveaborg (Castle of the Swedes), or Viapori as referred to by Finnish-speaking Finns, it was renamed in Finnish to Suomenlinna (Castle of Finland) in 1918 for patriotic and nationalistic reasons, though it is still known by its original name in Sweden and by Swedish-speaking Finns. The Swedish crown commenced the construction of the fortress in 1748 as protection against Russian expansionism.

Have you ever dreamed about sleeping under the Northern Lights? It happens almost nightly here in Finland at the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. Every guest gets to sleep in glass igloos and all rooms are equipped with "Aurora Alarms" so that you never miss a show. Travel tip: Visit in the Winter (October - February) for better chances at seeing the lights, otherwise the days are too long and there's not enough night!
The importance of the red dress with the glass house in Santa Claus Village, Finland:
First of all, Rovaniemi is really cold, this is useless. Less than 20 degrees below zero, so the first thing to shoot this film is to be gentle and not temperature.
Preparation:
1, find a good angle in advance, design the action. Because it's cold, don't think about it outside.
2, select the shooting route in advance, because the glass house is a snowy world, but where to take it, it is important to keep the body temperature
3, shoes: must put a waterproof shoes on the outside of the shoes Set, otherwise it will be all wet in a while.
4, prepare a tripod, select the parameters, and the shutter release starts shooting. Of course, if there is a special person to shoot, naturally it is the best.
5, how to wear it if you don't need it.
ps: The camera action, since it is the backless, so the design movements are more open-back, the skirt is a moment that needs to be picked up, you got it?
Experience the Vibrant Helsinki Christmas Market
The Helsinki Christmas Market, known as Tuomaa Markkinat in Finnish and Tomasmarknaden in Swedish, has been an annual event since 1994. Initially held at Esplanadi Park, it later moved to the city's largest square, Senate Square. Attracting over 300,000 visitors each year, the market is open from November 29 to December 22, with hours from 11 AM to 7 PM Sunday through Thursday, and until 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Entry is free, and children can enjoy a complimentary carousel ride.
During the market, a giant Christmas tree is erected in front of Helsinki Cathedral. Stalls offer rice porridge, mulled wine, winter cocktails, coffee, cinnamon rolls, sausages, flowers, knitted crafts like beanies and scarves, and Finnish souvenirs. There's even a sauna and pony rides for children. In 2023 and 2024, CNN Travel named it the "Best Christmas Market."
Having visited in 2023, I found the atmosphere lively and bustling, contrary to the stereotype of Finns being socially distant. Families come together to enjoy the festivities, making it feel like a grand party. The carousel is a particularly joyful spot for children.
Senate Square is akin to Beijing's Tiananmen Square, albeit smaller. It hosts formal events like the International Military Music Festival and political gatherings, which are peaceful and often end with participants enjoying coffee or drinks, resembling a carnival.
Most of the time, Senate Square feels like a rural market in northern China, with people sunbathing, feeding seagulls, or playing music. It's relaxed, with few police and no "urban management" officials. Many squares in Helsinki allow for casual stalls where people of all ages can sell items without needing a license or facing regulation.

Helsinki | Pink and Purple Sunset and Christmas Market 🎄
Today marks the opening of the Christmas Market in front of Helsinki Cathedral! A giant Christmas tree stands in the center of the square, and the place is bustling with people. The carousel and various colorful lights illuminate the entire market.
It's recommended to visit during sunset to the blue hour for a more romantic winter atmosphere. For a panoramic view, you can walk up the steps to the cathedral's entrance, which offers the best vantage point overlooking the market square. The street directly facing the square is a classic spot for photos, often featured in Helsinki's official tourism promotions.
Try to capture a green tram passing by for the perfect shot. From the market square, you can walk to the illuminated Christmas sculptures in Esplanadi Park or continue along Aleksanterinkatu Street to Kamppi or the Central Railway Station, where the light installations are stunning! In my previous post, I detailed must-visit photo spots in Helsinki's city center, so be sure to check it out!

Helsinki Christmas Market 2024 Opens with Festive Cheer
The Helsinki Christmas Market, recognized by CNN Travel as one of the best in the world, is open from December 1st to 22nd this year. The market features a carousel, Finnish handicrafts, and traditional festive foods like glögi, a warm mulled wine.
A popular treat is the freshly fried donuts, which often have long queues, though I opted for a bag of roasted chestnuts this time, enjoying their natural flavor. After exploring the market, I warmed up at the nearby El Fant café with a seasonal Christmas drink, and the owner kindly offered a gingerbread cookie. Looking back at photos, I realized I visited the same café after last year's market visit.

Experience the Helsinki Christmas Market
At the Christmas market, there's a donut stall that always has a long line, so I decided to try one. To my surprise, it was incredibly delicious.
The donuts are freshly made, with one person handling the payment and another doing the frying, ensuring they are hot when you get them. There are two flavors to choose from: sugar-coated or cinnamon-coated. We opted for the cinnamon one, priced at €2.5 each. They also sell chocolate for €3 a cup, which is much cheaper compared to other stalls.

The Christmas Street Opening Ceremony Will Be Held on November 23 This Year
The Christmas Street opening ceremony was first held in 1949 and is one of Helsinki's oldest Christmas traditions.
At that time, merchants near Aleksanterinkatu hoped to comfort Helsinki residents who were just emerging from the shadows of war with the Christmas Street lighting ceremony.
It turned out that this ceremony indeed brought light and hope to everyone. The Christmas Street opening ceremony also symbolizes the official start of the Christmas season, attracting up to 50,000 people to watch almost every year.

3 Reasons Why Finland Should Be on Your Radar for the Aurora
#auroralight
3 Reasons Why Finland Should Be on Your Radar for the Aurora
1. Unmatched Accessibility to the Arctic
Finland offers some of the easiest ways to see the northern lights without sacrificing comfort. From Rovaniemi’s glass igloos to cozy wilderness cabins in Saariselkä, you can marvel at the aurora from your bed or head out on a guided snowmobile or reindeer safari. Finland combines Arctic adventure with modern amenities, making it accessible for all.
2. Prime Aurora Viewing Conditions
With vast, unspoiled wilderness and minimal light pollution, Finland is one of the best places to catch the northern lights. Spots like Kilpisjärvi and Luosto boast clear, dark skies with high aurora activity during the season (September–March). Plus, many towns have aurora alert systems, so you won’t miss the show.
3. Unique Experiences Under the Northern Lights
Finland doesn’t just let you watch the aurora—it makes it unforgettable. Imagine soaking in an outdoor Arctic sauna with the lights swirling overhead, sleeping in a heated glass igloo, or taking a husky sled ride under the glowing sky. Finland’s combination of natural beauty and unique experiences ensures your aurora chase is as magical as the lights themselves.
If the northern lights are calling, Finland is your perfect destination this season.

Hiking in Finland during the winter is like stepping into a real-life snow globe. With its endless forests blanketed in pristine snow, frozen lakes shimmering in the pale sunlight, and the crisp Arctic air, it’s a magical experience that every adventurer should try.
Finland’s vast wilderness offers trails for all levels, from leisurely walks to challenging treks. One of the most iconic spots for snow hiking is Lapland, where trails wind through enchanting pine forests and across open tundra. Here, you can embrace the silence of nature, broken only by the crunch of snow underfoot or the occasional call of a distant reindeer.
For a truly unique experience, head to Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, where marked trails lead you through breathtaking Arctic landscapes. The soft glow of the winter sun combined with snow-draped trees creates a serene atmosphere that’s straight out of a fairytale. If you’re lucky, you might even catch the Northern Lights dancing above the treetops.
Snow hiking in Finland is not just about the scenery—it’s about the stillness and the connection to nature. Equip yourself with warm layers, sturdy boots, and maybe some snowshoes for deeper snow. Along the way, enjoy a traditional Finnish tradition: pausing for a break with a hot cup of coffee or tea by a fire.
