Today, I visited Chen Village in Shunde and tried this traditional restaurant, Yue Shun Seafood Restaurant, based on a friend's recommendation. As expected, Guangzhou is known for its food, and Shunde is known for its chefs. The overall taste was quite good.
First of all, the restaurant is quite spacious with many private rooms. The environment features an elegant Chinese-style decor, spacious and bright, which is a style that the older generation prefers for Cantonese restaurants. On a weekday afternoon, there weren't many customers, but I heard it's often packed on weekends.
This time, I tried a few of their dishes, including Steamed Soft-Shelled Turtle with Lotus Leaf (very tasty, the turtle was fresh with a fragrant lotus leaf aroma), Mustard Greens in Superior Soup (crisp mustard greens paired with minced meat in superior soup, perfect with rice). The presentation was okay, and the prices were reasonable, with an average cost of about 60-70 yuan per person.
For those who enjoy Shunde cuisine, you might want to give it a try.

Unforgettable Shunde Homestay!
This time, I chose Fengting Hidden Residence for my trip to Shunde. It is located at the Qinghui Garden store in Daliang, making it convenient to visit various attractions.
Upon entering, I saw the kitchen area with a separate sink and refrigerator. There were water, toothbrushes, and other amenities on the table. Next to it was the bathroom, which had a separate shower and toilet area, providing shampoo and shower gel. Additionally, there was a full-length mirror and a dressing table next to the kitchen.
Moreover, the double bed was spacious, and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. There was also a sofa and a table next to the bed.
This homestay also had a small balcony with a view of the local streets, and there was a washing machine on the balcony for convenience.
Overall, I was very satisfied with this homestay. It was spacious, well-equipped, and even had a projector with a clear picture, allowing you to watch movies while lying in bed, which was very relaxing.

The second generation, Yang Tingxian, was a renowned Shunde chef, nicknamed 'Red Nose Xian' due to a light red birthmark on his nose. Now, the fourth generation has taken over, preserving and promoting the ancient salt-smoking technique that has a history of over 300 years and was nearly lost.
Signature Dish - Salt-Smoked Chicken: Adhering to traditional methods, it uses natural sea salt and free-range chickens, freshly baked every day. The sea salt is stir-fried over high heat to over 200 degrees Celsius, and the fresh chicken is wrapped in parchment paper and covered with sea salt. The chicken is cooked using the heat from the sea salt. The ancient salt-baking method requires precise control of the heat; a minute less and it will be undercooked, a minute more and it will be overcooked. Due to the complex process and high technical requirements, only Yang Ting Kee still adheres to this traditional method. The ancient salt-baked chicken is tender, with a fragrant bone and a subtle smoky flavor, making it unforgettable.
Other dishes are also good, such as Boneless Grass Carp (a skillful dish with fresh fish meat), Shunde Fish Soup (sweet and delicious, with a tasty fish broth), and Shrimp Stuffed Vegetables (a specialty dish with fresh ingredients). I went to Shunde with my friends on the weekend and chose the Midea Marriott Hotel next to Shunfengshan Park. Due to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the hotel's suites were sold out, and I was given a high-floor lake view corner room.
The room is about 45 square meters, the overall style is the old business style of the previous generation of Marriott, and the hardware is also lackluster. The only highlight is the view of Shunfengshan Park outside the window. The 25-story height can overlook the entire Qingyun Lake. 1. Price
I booked one day in advance on the platform on a non-holiday, and I don't remember the exact price (around 600 I guess)
2. Location
The hotel is located on the banks of the Desheng River, which is a prime riverside view in Shunde. The geographical environment is very OK. Across the river from the hotel is the Fisherman's Wharf (a local internet-famous check-in spot). There is some construction going on nearby, which might not look so nice, but you don't have to worry about dust and construction noise.
3. Transportation
Shunde does not yet have full metro coverage, the nearest metro station is about 5km away. Due to the good location of the hotel, if you want to travel around the area, you can choose to walk, use shared bicycles, or ride-hailing services (the prices in Shunde are quite cheap)
