In 2024, during my maple viewing trip to the Northeast, I traveled from Sendai to Aomori and visited Morioka City, a charming city. Morioka is located in the central hub of six northeastern counties in Japan. The urban area is run by the Nakatsu River and is surrounded by mountains. It has retro buildings from the Meiji era and the ruins of Morioka Castle with beautiful stone walls. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and the red leaves are dyed yellow. #Great Places in September 2024 The ruins of Morioka Castle were built in 1598. Although there is a castle tower, it was not built due to concerns about the shogunate.
