Sweden (Swedish: Sverige) is a country located on the Scandinavian Peninsula and is one of the five Nordic countries. The capital is Stockholm. It is bordered by Norway to the west, and shares a northeastern border with Finland. It is also bordered by the Skagerrak Strait and the Kattegat Strait to the southwest, and the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Bothnia to the east. Sweden faces Denmark, Germany, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia across the sea, with a coastline of 2,181 kilometers and a total area of 449,964 square kilometers, making it the largest country in northern Europe.

The territorial waters extend 12 nautical miles, with a coastline of approximately 2,181 kilometers, and about 15% of the land is within the Arctic Circle.
