Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella
The Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella was built during the first century BC in honour of a Roman console’s daughter. The Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella is one of the most well-known and best preserved monuments along the Appion way. The mausoleum is quite unique as it consists of a cynical rotunda on top of a square podium. There is also a castle at the rear of the mausoleum.
