Affordable Chinese Food in Boudha | Mechung
#traveldiaries #eatlikealocal #localrestaurant
Mechung is famous for their delicious masala free Tibetan Momos. Not many know that they do have affordable Chinese food as well. We had all these for around 400+ for most main dishes. Quantity was good. Rice quality could have been better but overall, it was a good place to satisfy your Chinese food cravings. It’s also located just in front of Boudha Gate so it’s easy to spot.
Affordable Authentic Thai Restaurant in Bhaktapur, Nepal
#traveldiaries #eatlikealocal #localrestaurant
This is such an underrated place for Thai food in Bhaktapur. Everything we had was soooo good and pretty affordable. The bill only came upto Rs.3200 for 2 starters, 3 mains & soft drinks. The ambience is pretty good and spacious as well (easily would accommodate big groups of crowds at once.
The restaurant is strategically located just a few blocks away from Bhatebhateni Radhe Radhe

The only Singaporean restaurant in town that serves authentic Nasi Lemak, Laksa & Curry Puffs! You just cannot miss out on these. The dais are so hardworking and dedicated and their perfection shows in the dishes they make. So grateful that they exists for ex GC (Singapore Gurkhas) and whenever we miss Singaporean foods, we can just come down here for the nostalgia and cravings 💖
Korean Cheesy Corn dog & affordable pastries at Grg Bakery
#traveldiaries #localrestaurant #eatlikealocal
Love the Cheesy corn dog, kiwi refresher & blueberry waffle 🧇 The prices are pretty reasonable but the ready desserts in the cafe are a hit or miss.
Preordered a Vanilla Swiss Roll Log once, that was good.
Seems like a place for Gen Zs to chill at since the tables are always crowded with the younger gen.
Famous Alu Nimki in Nakhipot | Nepal
#traveldiaries #localrestaurant #eatlikealocal
Nepali people loveee Alu Nimki and Jhyapley dai is very popular with the local for this delicious snack.
Undoubtedly the Best Alu Nimki in town!
Jhyapley dai has been around since I was teenager and the quality has remained consistent till now. Spice level can be very high so make sure to select the lowest if you can’t handle spicy foods.
The pani puri is also decent.
If you’re coming from a distance, then be sure to call ahead because sometimes he’ll be closed for days.
Delicious Sambal Kangkong & Sting gray at Jalan Alor
#traveldiaries #eatlikealocal #foodie #localguides #localrestaurant
#Sambalkangkong
Everything we had at Chu Cha (located at Bukit Bintang) was sooo goodddd. We started off with fresh coconut water which was refreshing and healthy. The mains were really good ESP the Sambal KangKong with Dried Shrimps & Sambal Sting gray.
The restaurant is located at the popular food street in KL, Jalan Alor. It is a bit on the pricier side but definitely worth the delicious taste and cost ambience.
Best Chinese Restaurant in Kathmandu
#traveldiaries #eatlikealocal #localrestaurant
My fav place in town for Chinese food! The Glass noodles with pork mince is a great starter and Fried Mushrooms. Sweet & Sour Pork may not look too appetising at first glance but it hits the right spot, totally recommend!
The other dishes I’d recommend are the usual KungPao chicken, Mapo Tofu & Sizzling Buff. The small might be small but the food is worth the visit.
Best Char Siew Wanton Mee in Singapore! | Guan Chee HK Roast
#localfinds #localrestaurant #eatlikealocal
This is probably the best Char Siew Wanton Mee I had in Singapore. Located at the newly opened Woodleigh Mall, you can find this at Guan Chee HK Roast. The Char Siew was so tender and juicy that it melts upon entering your mouth. The wanton mee and charsiew hits all the right spots, it’s so delicious! You have to try this if you’re around the area.
Popular Pork Leg Rice Restaurant in Hat Yai!
#localfinds
#localrestaurant #eatlikealocal
This place is very popular among locals and even Thai celebrities as pictures speak a lot about the popularity in their front display pictures. The stew pork leg is the signature dish here. The pork was tender and soft, and the set comes with boiled egg and vegetable which compliments the overall dish well. The best part is how friendly the staff are, they have a very welcoming environment.
Best Char Siew Rice you’ll have in Kathmandu
#traveldiaries #Eatlikealocal #localrestaurant
Kem’s lunchbox is sucha underrated place to have delicious Pork lunch set. The pork is tender and succulent and melts in your mouth. It’s so full of flavour, it reminds me of Char Siew rice. They provide sauce to put over the rice and it goes really well with the side vegetables.
The pork sandwich is also a hit as it’s so goooddddd!! You’ve got to try it.

Singma (mixture from Sing-apore & Ma-laysia) is the first Singaporean Malaysian restaurant in Kathmandu, Nepal that serves authentic Singaporean Malaysian dishes like Roasted Chicken Rice & Rendang Nasi Lemak set. These are the highlights here with homemade soy milk. For starters, you can go for some soothing bowl of Wanton Soup, Satay, Curry Puffs & Char Siu Bao.
2 Delicious Foods you should try at Platinum Mall Food Centre
#traveldiaries #eatlikealocal #localrestaurant #foodie
After you’re done shopping at the popular Platinum Fashion Mall in Pratunam area, head up to their food court for these 2 food stalls to try these delicious items. First off is the popular Go Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice which was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand. I had the mixed chicken rice with roasted and Hainanese. It was good. Only interesting part was that it was served with gizzard. Another dish you should totally try is the BBQ pork & wanton noodles. That dish was a perfect 10/10
Best place to have local Thai food in Kathmandu
#traveldiaries #eatlikealocal #localrestaurant
Aroy Thai (formerly known as Thai wok) has been around for almost a decade. This place is run by a local Thai and Nepali couple and that’s how you can be sure the food would be authentic. The prices are reasonably set and be competitive to the other restaurants in town. The signature dish is the Pad Thai, Tom Yum, Fried Rice, they even have Fishballs which is rare in Nepal. I really love their Prawn tempura, som tam too and homemade sauce which complements the dishes well.
【Taipa Old Town | Fine Raw Beef Vietnam River 】
【Taipa Old Town | Fine Raw Beef Vietnam River 🍜 Cafe Hanoi 】
💕 Found a new Vietnamese cafe after passing through Taipa Old Town
Two-sided shutters design very Southeast Asian vacation feel
Mainly Vietnamese beef noodles and coconut coffee sand hail
Also available are cocktails, beer, etc.
Friday and Saturday night and have a drink with friends 🍹
🔻Superclass Vietnamese beef river noodles 🐮
The owner loves Vietnamese culture and makes a special visit to the local area to learn lessons
Researching out PHO for the local population 🍜
After hours of cooking no MSG soup foundation
Drink every bite of the fresh beef flavor
Ingredients have two large pieces of raw beef, beef, beef balls, sprouts, etc. 🥩
Semi-cooked beef very fresh and rich
The flavor is more prominent with the feed.
🔻Coconut coffee sand ice 🌴
Tried the signature coconut coffee sand hail on drinks
Thick coconut fragrance awakens the feeling of traveling in Vietnam again
And the overall taste is not too sweet
Drinking sand ice is really a race against time
It's melting fast. I recommend drinking it as soon as possible ⏳
