Song Mountains commonly known as "Songshan" is one of China's Five Great Mountains. It is situated in Central China's Henan Province and has a history of over thousand years. This mountains is suitable for adventure-looking individuals! Reaching the top of the mountains is quite a challenge as it will test your endurance and strength. There are a lot of transportation modes that you can choose. Ride a bus from Zhenghzou to Dengfeng and then a taxi from Dengfeng bus station to the foot of the mountain. #2023TravelWish #henanprovince #china By now, everyone should know of the famous KungFu shows of the Shaolin Monks, but what impressed me most when visiting was not the martial arts (although that was thrilling) but rather the beautiful architecture, history and peace of the place. Admittedly, we made the trip off season, so there were not as many tourists, but even so, the quiet of the place stood out. Watch out for my favourite part not featured here, the ancient tree with hundred bear old finger holes used by decades of monks for practice!

If you have, it’s likely for the Shaolin Temple or Longmen grottoes (check out my other posts for a review on those cultural highlights) but it’s not often that YunTai mountain is talked about as a must-go place. Situated in the north of the province, YunTai mountain not only hosts beautiful waterfalls, monkey trails and mountain top temples, but also the Red Rock Gorge. This really took my breath away with miles of stairs up and down the crevice with the characteristic… you’ve guessed it! Red rocks! The whole scenic area is easily accessible via tourist bus, cable car and boat!

Getting There - Shaolin temple/song mountain 🏔 located in Dengfeng zhengzhou. can drive ..it’s about 1 hour drive from zhengzhou city Attractions - famous kungfu school in the world, you can enjoy beautiful scenery, can get a ticket at about 70 rmb to enter the temple. Hotels - there are many hotels near by as it is a famous tourists area... affordable price.. you have to call and check in with the hotel first Food & Restaurants - you can find all kinds of restaurants, famous one are plant based restaurant Shopping - not really much , better to just do shopping in Zhengzhou city as Dengfeng is a small city with just mountains. #shaolintemple #dengfeng #kungfu #china #henanprovince
