Shaochuantou Park is located by the sea, offering a view of two Kaohsiung landmarks: the 85 Sky Tower and the Cihou Lighthouse, as well as a panoramic view of Kaohsiung Harbor. Often overlooked due to its proximity to Xiziwan, Shaochuantou is less crowded and a great spot for photography. On weekends, Shaochuantou Park exudes a leisurely atmosphere. Some people come here specifically to fish, while others sit under the shade of trees and chat. There is a Starbucks on the first floor of the nearby Brio Hotel, where you can buy a coffee to enjoy by the sea. Walking towards Xiziwan, you'll find a dock-like area, which is an excellent spot for photos. From here, you can see the entire Kaohsiung Harbor, including the Maritime Music Center, Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, and the 85 Sky Tower. On clear days, the blue sky reflects beautifully off the glass facades of the buildings. On the other side, you can see Cijin across the water. Cijin Zhongzhou is home to many shipyards and freight companies, offering a stark contrast to the urban landscape with its industrial scenery. This is also the closest spot to view the Cihou Lighthouse. If you're lucky, you might see a large ship leaving the harbor, heading out of Taiwan. It's quite a sight to see a massive ship squeezing through a small exit, looking as if it's about to crash. When I lived in Taiwan, I stayed near Shaochuantou. Whenever the weather was good, I would head to Shaochuantou Park to take photos because it was often quiet and spacious, perfect for comfortable photography. Most crowds head towards Pier-2 Art Center and Xiziwan, making Shaochuantou quieter on weekends. It's easy to find good spots for photos. Since it's close to residential areas, Shaochuantou Park is also a great place for street photography. 📍Shaochuantou Park It's about a 15-minute walk from Exit 1 of Xiziwan MRT Station. Opposite Shaochuantou Park is the Gushan Ferry Station, where you can take a ferry to Cijin.

I first learned about the Zimu Tunnel because of the Taiwanese indie band Hello Nico. This location was featured in the music video for their famous single 'What Next.' The video uses a continuous shot technique, starting from the wooden stairs to the tunnel entrance, making me feel like I'm part of the MV. However, more people visit this place because they think the Qiding Zimu Tunnel resembles the tunnel in 'Spirited Away.' Do you feel the same? Besides the tunnel, don't forget to check out the observation deck! It's just a three-minute walk from the station and offers a great view of passing trains and distant wind turbines. At first glance, these turbines seem to float on the sea, giving a magical feel! Additionally, the Qiding Zimu Tunnel has its own observation deck where you can see the scenery of Xiangshan and Hsinchu. Walking along the boardwalk, you'll quickly reach Yuguang Island Beach. There's a large open area with trees providing shade and a view of the sea, making it a great spot for a picnic. Yuguang Island Beach is arguably the most famous beach in Tainan. The coastline is stunning, earning it the nickname 'Moon Bay.' The sand here is very fine, so even walking barefoot is comfortable. The overall flavor of the skewers is rich and slightly sweet, with a mid-to-high price range. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, it has stood firm. Although some favorite menu items have been discontinued and prices have increased, the overall taste is still quite good. Alcoholic beverages cost about 100 to 150 TWD. It's recommended to order bottled beer; a 300cc glass of draft beer costs 140 TWD and is Heineken, which tastes quite average and is priced on the higher side. Skewers are usually sold in sets of two, with each set costing around 100 TWD. The price for grilled seafood is slightly higher. The skewer sauce is sweet, and the grilling is done just right. I do not recommend ordering rice bowls here; I tried the eel rice bowl for 250 TWD. In the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931), he assumed the position of President of the Control Yuan. In October of the 38th year of the Republic of China (1949), he arrived in Taiwan and relocated the Control Yuan to the island. After Mr. Yu Youren passed away in the 53rd year of the Republic of China (1964), his remains were buried in the saddle facing northwest on Qixing Mountain in Taipei City. The cemetery is located within the forested area of Yangmingshan National Park in Taipei City. Groundbreaking took place on March 14th of the 54th year of the Republic of China (1965), and construction was completed in July of the same year. During the Japanese colonial period, the construction of the railway was undertaken, with the Caoling Tunnel through the Caoling Mountain Range being the most challenging and dangerous part. The tunnel was completed in February 1924. Later, due to the insufficiency of a single-track operation, a new Caoling Tunnel was constructed in 1986, and the old tunnel was closed and left idle for nearly 20 years. After years of effort by the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration, the tunnel was officially opened on August 10, 2008, as Northern Taiwan's first railway tunnel converted into a cycling tunnel. In the thirteenth year of Guangxu, he was granted permission to establish the 'General Bureau of Railways and Commerce of Taiwan'. The first section from Keelung through Taipei to Hsinchu was constructed, among which the tunnel project at Shiqiuling in Keelung was the most challenging. Work began in the spring of the fourteenth year of Guangxu and was not completed until the summer of the sixteenth year, taking a total of thirty months to break through; the Shiqiuling Tunnel is approximately 235 meters long, the first railway-exclusive tunnel in Taiwan, and the only railway tunnel from the Qing Dynasty period. Location: On Miaoli County Highway 49 in Sanyi Township, Miaoli County Introduction: Longteng, formerly known as 'Fish Vine Flat', is named after a legend where the early settlers were troubled by a carp spirit in the Carp Pond. To subdue the mischievous carp spirit, the settlers planted fish vine throughout the Longteng mountain area. At the same time, they named the high mountain to the east 'Guandao Mountain', with the intention of using Guandao Mountain to cut the fish vine and poison the carp spirit. Eventually, the fish monster ceased to harm the people, and the residents lived and worked in peace and contentment. After World War II, when villages were established in Taiwan, the villagers thought the name 'Fish Vine' was inelegant and renamed it Longteng. On the morning of April 21, 1935, a major earthquake struck central Taiwan, with the epicenter near Guandao Mountain. The Sanyi area was severely affected, and the majestic Longxi Bridge on the mountain railway line was completely destroyed. After the earthquake, a new bridge was built to the west of the original bridge, leaving behind the arched pillars standing in the sun and wind, as a memorial for future generations. When passing through Sanyi by train, the sight of the Longteng Broken Bridge remnants is striking and leaves a deep impression.
