Quanzhou for architecture & culture lovers !
Vibrant city to enjoy for at least 2 days for culture, architecture and food.
Few worth it half-day trips around doable by didi.
Active by day and night !
Visit the temple of the Queen of heaven in the morning then hang out around and through its southern streets during market time. Go back after sunset for a busy and messy atmosphere.
Go to Kaiyuan temple in the afternoon and hang out on Xi jie, have tea and watch the sunset from one of the rooftop. Favorite one Baishui Haoxi, a nice-edgy renovated Republic of China building (around 1930).
Get lost in the small streets and you will see small family temples built at every other corner.
Other great temples, Confucian temple, Chengtian temple, Tonghuai temple, to see both by day and pass by by night.
Stay at the Dongmian inn nearby the Chengtian temple, great host and ideal location.
A half-day trip to Xunpucun is easy by didi, this village has old houses with walls built out of oysters shell, unique.
Good destination for seafood and fish. A must try is also the ginger duck, a stewed duck long-cooked in iron pot with tones of ginger.

Wudianshi Traditional Blocks (五店市傳統街區)
Wudianshi Traditional Blocks, is a park in Jinjiang City, Quanzhou, China. It is located in Qingyan, the old town of Jinjiang City, and was considered as the birthplace of the city.
Wudianshi Traditional Block is full of cultural relics and historical buildings, such as ancestral shrines, temples, private houses and stores.
From TPE Taoyuan International Airport, Shenzhen Airlines has a daily frequency direct flight to Jinjiang City. The flying time is about an hour.
I stayed at the Hollyston Hotel, just less than 2 kilometers from the airport. Wudianshi Traditional Blocks is a walking distance from the hotel. Along your way to the park, there are plenty of mango trees.

Driving around Quanzhou!
It was a good experience for us to drive around Quanzhou. The roads were empty during our trip since it was still on Chinese New Year's Day. We stopped by every place which has beaches and explore a bit. It's very convenient when you are travelling by car since you can decide anywhere you want to go. Our main destination was Fuzhou but we decided to have a stop in Quanzhou. It's a very quiet place probably because of the holiday but I felt like I was in the country and it's just peaceful I think. We also passed Ocean Kingdom. I saw a lot of people and kids were there so we didn't get inside. The place is huge and I think it is indeed an amusement park. Quanzhou is a good place to chill and play I suppose.

Dolphin Bay in Quanzhou!
We had a road trip during Chinese New Year holiday. We came from Zhangzhou then stopped by Quanzhou and our last destination was Fuzhou. When we were in Quanzhou, we saw nice views and places. One of them is the Dolphin Bay. It seems like it's an abandon area. Nobody is there and the place looks like it hasn't been taken care of. I feel like it's a waste since the place is quite attractive. It is huge. There are some accommodations around I think. There are villas around which also look like nobody is living. I think there were some activities the guests could do. I saw a long slide which is I think connected to the sea. If this was open I think it could be one of the attractions in Quanzhou. It is beautiful.
