Flew for a Weekender in Osaka & Kyoto. Never seen so many people in Kyoto in one place. It cost 500 Yen to get in but the history and the experience were worth it even though there are thousands of other people around you. It closes at night but you can see the streets without any crowds. During operating hours, it was super packed but worth the ticket to enter. The view was amazing despite the large crowd and the pagoda across also provided a great experience for me. It is a little slippery along the way so be cautious visiting this place in the rain/wet seasons.

Also, I added 5 new prefectures to my list (11/47) this time around. This trip was kinda different from my previous trips to Japan, as I arrived and departed from Kansai International Airport (KIX). Because the tram station is really beautiful 😍 Inspired by the bamboo forest in Arashiyama, Kimono Forest is an art installation around the Arashiyama Randen Station of the Keifuku Randen Tram Line. It is composed of 60 clear acrylic cylinders standing 2 meters tall. Within each cylinder is an example of kimono fabric design, with a total of 32 different traditional Kyo-yuzen (style of fabric dyeing developed in Kyoto during the Edo-Period) designs. The designer behind the installation is Yasumichi Morita. 💡The best time to visit this place is right after the sun set at around 6:15 to 6:30 PM. 📝 The Keifuku Randen Line does not connect directly with Kyoto Station, and as it is operated by a private company, it’s not covered by the JR Pass. 🚇🚍🚋 Getting there : From Kyoto Station, you can take City Bus 26, 28, and 206 to Shijo Omiya Station. Then went to Goryokaku Tower to see breathtaking views of Fort Goryokaku's unique star-shaped walls from above. Afterward, We headed to the Red Brick Warehouses, catching a convenient tram ride along the way. The historic buildings now house charming shops and cafes. From there, we strolled past Hakodate's picturesque Orthodox Church to the Hakodate Ropeway. A ride on the Hakodate Ropeway offered the panoramic view of the blossoming city. The views from Mt. Hakodate's observatory overlooking Hakodate Bay were also incredible. No wonder that it dubbed as a million dollar night view. If you are a fan of Japanese movies and doramas, you might recognize this place because it’s the filming location of many popular movies and doramas. As you step out from the Enoshima Station, you will instantly feel like become the main character of your own dorama. I walked along the bridge with the fresh sea breeze in my face, then explored the island’s shrine and caves. It was so relaxing taking a stroll to the garden which is located uphill while trying some of their local delicacies. I especially enjoyed exploring its observatory tower where you can see the city from a distance. The view of the ocean from there was breathtaking. Enoshima is small but full of surprises. You need to go through the alley entrance next to a vintage-style building to find the cafe. The interior consists of two-person tables, sofa seats, and a bar table. There is also a small garden that leads outside, making it a nice place to take a leisurely stroll. I ordered the seasonal menu item, strawberry pancakes, and a drink, the colorful cream soda. Both the refreshing cream soda and the sweet pancakes were delicious, making it a great place to spend some time. The staff were friendly, and I would love to visit again.
