Art History & Romance
#myhiddengems
While it is likely to be overlooked on a European holiday due to the likes of Rome or Paris being more popular. I was glad to have touched both Vienna and Salzburg during my European vacation. It's a bit of a gem. Especially when you come with no expectations. It's a historically rich city with culture and architecture. There is a sense of art about it. For me roaming around unknown streets and learning about its rich history was both fruitful and scenic. The nights have a sense of romance in them. You will pass by these beautiful restaurants and well lit streets. Romance will automatically come to you.

Austria's highest waterfall
While the Salzburg region has several waterfalls to it's credit. I think Krimml waterfall is the most popular. Perhaps, across austria for that matter. There are different levels to the waterfall. And there are different ways of going about it. Should you be just passing by, then from the parking lot you could merely walk a while and expericne the water.
However for those interested in a hike. Access is from the Gerlos Pass which goes through the Hohe Tauern national Park. There is a proper 9km plus trail which will pass by several view points. You'd be charged a nominal entrance fee that goes towards maintainence. As for the level of difilficulty. You are looking at easily 3 plus hours for this trail. Moderate hikers shouldn't have a problem and it will a rewarding experience.

Innsbruck in western Austria is a beautiful destination set amidst a pleasant valley. On its own,
Innsbruck is a melange of Baroque churches, gabled houses, and twisting streets. You could spend all your time snapping photos of medieval houses surrounded by snow-covered peaks. But there's a lot more than scenery to keep you busy. The city punches well above its weight when it comes to culture and outdoor activities, too.
Now as far as what you can do here. Especially with summer in mind. The time visited. I noticed that In the summer months, the region's slopes are taken over by hikers who get to view some of the most beautiful alpine scenery in Europe. Innsbruck's grand boulevard goes past shops, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, Glühwein stands, and, in season, a traditional Christmas market. Much of the thoroughfare is pedestrian only.
Another favourite part of my explorations here was the old town. This historic core is over 500 years old. A delight to explore, the neighborhood is a collection of cobblestone streets, boutiques, medieval buildings, and sidewalk cafes.#myhiddengems #cherryblossom2024 #100waysoftravel #austria #innsbruck #mountains #summergetaway #singapore
