Visiting Mount Washington was such a cool experience! The drive up was amazing, especially in the fall with all the colorful trees. The views were beautiful all the way up, but as I got higher, it got really cold. By the time I was close to the top, everything was frozen, and I literally drove into a cloud. I couldn’t see anything, but it was kind of fun in a weird way. Even though the weather wasn’t great up top, the whole experience was totally worth it. It felt like a real adventure. One thing I’d recommend is to dress warm, even if it’s nice at the bottom. The weather changes fast up there. Visiting Hopscotch in San Antonio was really cool! It’s an immersive art experience, where you walk through different rooms filled with colorful, interactive installations. I had a great time hiking the Historic Railroad Trail in Nevada. The trail is pretty easy and flat, which made for a relaxing day. The best part was walking through the old railroad tunnels—there are five in total, and they’re cool to explore. The views of Lake Mead along the way were stunning, especially with the desert landscape around it. One tip: bring water, because there’s not much shade. It can get hot, especially in the summer. I also loved how quiet and peaceful it was; I hardly saw anyone else. Overall, it was a great way to combine history, nature, and some light exercise. I went to the South Rim of Grand Canyon, and it was amazing! The views were breathtaking, and the scale of it all really hits you. I was walking from one viewpoint to another, still could not believe that I was visiting this epic place, so happy!!! The weather can change quickly, so I’d recommend dressing in layers. The crowds at the South Rim can get heavy, but if you get there early, it's much more peaceful. There’s so much to see, from the lookout points to the trails. I loved every minute of my time there. I had just half a day to explore Zion, but I still decided to go and I did one of the shorter hikes, and I’m so glad I did. The views were incredible—the huge red rock cliffs, the clear blue sky, and the fresh air all around made it feel like something out of a movie. Even with limited time, I could tell Zion is truly special. There are a ton of hikes in Zion, ranging from easy strolls to more intense, multi-day treks. I barely scratched the surface, so I’m definitely planning to go back and see more next time. There's just so much to explore! One thing I’d recommend is using the shuttle system if you're visiting during busy seasons. It’s a super easy way to get around the park, and it helps avoid the stress of parking. Overall, even with just a half of a day, Zion left a lasting impression on me. The scenery, the feeling of being surrounded by nature—it’s something I’ll remember. Zabriskie Point it's probably the most iconic and awesome spot in the entire death valley. The views are truly stunning and fascinating. There is a convenient parking lot nearby the lookout. A few hikes start here. If you're planning to hike here, then better come very early because by 10 AM the temperature even in winter is nearly unbearable. But even just a simple visit of the viewpoint itself without any hard-core hiking is absolutely worth it. Seriously, that's probably the best you can see. Dante's view is one of my favorite viewpoints in the Death Valley. It’s high up on a mountain where you can see the whole valley below. It is good to visit before or after Badwater Basin cause these two are pretty close to each other. The drive up is a bit curvy, but once you get there, the view is incredible. The view is absolutely stunning. And during the winter, you can see some snow on the peaks at the horizon. Tip: Go early or late in the day to avoid the heat and catch the best light. One more tip: there is a little path that leads from the parking lot pretty far along the hilltop. Joshua Tree is such a cool place. The landscape is stunning: the big rocks, the weird Joshua trees, and that wide-open desert. The hikes were awesome, especially with the sun setting behind the rocks. It felt like I was on another planet. On the day when I went there, there were very few people. Driving was a pleasure, most of the roads are dust roads, but they were well maintained. I had lots of water with me in the car and all the snacks I needed - there aren't many places to buy those. One thing: definitely bring plenty of water and wear sturdy shoes. There are many places where you can see Sequoias in California. Due to the weather and the fact that we had a 3yo kid with us, we went to Redwood national Park cause of its location and amenities. And it was a perfect choice for a day trip to see those majestic trees. It is an easy drive. There is a convenient parking lot and most pathways are well maintained, so it was possible to cross and walk around even on a rainy day. There were quite a few parents with small kids - most broadwalks were wide enough for a stroller. There is a cafe and a gift shoo at the park. There is a stunning place just an hour drive from Las Vegas that doesn't get too many visitors! I got there only because my local friends recommended this place to me. Valley of fire is an absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, fantastic place! It is an absolute must when traveling to Nevada. Valley of fire is a massive area with lots of short hikes. There are no stores or restaurants, so make sure you're bringing all the water and snacks you might need with you. This area gets extremely hot during summertime, so make sure your vehicle suits the weather in case you're planning on visiting during summer.
