Central Beijing is for the artistic minds. Do you dare put aside modern society and step-back in time?
Artists and photographers will enjoy the elements of Beijing. Try for yourself this season.
🍊Here’s my 3 day itinerary for a Creative:
1️⃣ arrival to Beijing West station by train - bike tour (25 minutes) PING’ANLI metro station to Jingshan East - Enter Beihai park East Gate - Hike the summit in front (1.5 hrs). - Transit to Jinyu Hutong station for costume dress-up - Photographs at the Palace Museum: Donghuamen gate. (East)
2️⃣ 🌞7:30 a.m. sunrise at Beihai park - walk counterclockwise around the lake - see the temple of the goddess of silk - follow the ducks swimming - return clockwise to Beihei park South Gate - explore the inside of pavilions/temple space/sculptures and the natural landscape - descend the hill 🌷🙏🏽 - go nap - munch some - Gather equipment for dusk photography at 16:30-17:30
3️⃣ content creation: sip coffee / tea at a local shop - organize your content - plan and piece together - reflect on your journey.
Tips: the architecture is unique in the central palace location. Choose which ancient attraction fascinates you. My recommendation is to move slow and be mindful with your craft.

2 week itinerary to take in the breathtaking scenery of Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬
🇰🇬Kyrgyzstan is also famously known as the Switzerland of Central Asia, and they are not wrong. With an average elevation 2,600m, the country is scattered full of beautiful, and untouched nature.
We travelled Kyrgyzstan during September 2024, and here are our tips.
Day 1: Explore Bishkek
Bishkek is the capital city with a population of 1 million people. Explore:
- Ala Too Square
- Victory Square
- Osh Bazaar
Day 2-3: Take in the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan - Issyk Kul
Head on down to the south of Issyk Kul lake. Why not stay in a yurt camp on the lake? Bokonbeyvo, or Tong could be good place to rest. Here you can explore:
- Golden Eagle Hunting 🦅
- Skazka Canyon
Day 4: Karakol - the base for the next few days
Karakol is the second largest city in Kyrgyzstan and is also a great base for few hikes around the area.
Day 5-7: Ala Kul Lake OR Altyn Arshan 🥾
If hiking is your thing, why not hike to one of the most beautiful lakes, with a distance of 50km over 3 days, it is tough but well worth it.
OR stay in a guesthouse or yurt camp in Altyn Arshan, to really enjoy the nomadic life and the picturesque green windows backdrop.
Day 8-10: Naryn and the Kel Suu Lake 🏔️
Naryn can be your base to head to Kel Suu Lake (or you can also join a tour from Bishkek). Stay in a yurt camp along the Kok-Kiya Valley and head to Kel Suu Lake to witness a beautiful blue turquoise lake against dramatic grey cliffs.
Day 11-13: Horse ride around Song Kul Lake 🐎
Horse trek around Song Kul Lake and stay in truely nomadic yurt camps, unplugged for 3 whole days. This is truly an experience.
Day 14: Head back to Bishkek and say see you next time to Kyrgyzstan! ✈️

SONG KUL LAKE Horse Trek Guide
Song Kul lake is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. It sits at 3016m above sea level, and wow it is beautiful!
✅I HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing a horse trek from Kyzart to Song Kul to experience the beauty and become truely nomadic for a few days.
🛖We did a 2N3D tour; which I thought was perfect amount (our knees and bum was hurting by the end)
📱How to book?
We found our guide via Google Maps and organised via WhatsApp (Русский)
💵How much?
Approximately 11,000 - 15,000 soms per person. We negotiated our price down to 11,500 soms.
🐎What was included?
Horse, all food, 2 nights accomodation at yurt camps. It was a private tour with one guide that took us from Kyzart, stayed one night in Killeminche before continuing onto staying one night at Song Kul Lake. The views you will pass by during these three days is out of the world, and really unbelievable. We got to walk up steep mountain faces, and canter and gallop on the plains and along Song Kul Lake.

The most beautiful lake in Kyrgyzstan & guide - Kel Suu
Within the Tian Shan mountain ranges of Kyrgyzstan, a beautiful turquoise blue alpine lake sits in between dramatic grey cliffs. The contrast of the two makes this lake arguably one of the most beautiful lakes in Kyrgyzstan.
How to get there?
🚌 Tour
We joined a 3D2N tour from Bishkek. The drive was long (we stopped along the way for some photos and food), but it included the bus there, accomodation at a yurt camp and food. This tour was 9990 soms per person.
🚗 Organise a driver / Rent a 4x4
Organise a driver from CBT Naryn. The journey from Naryn to the Valley is 130km but it is rugged and off-road, and takes around 5 hours. We enquired about private drivers from Naryn which would set us back 15k soms for the driver and their accomodation.
🎟️ Border Permit
You will need to organise a border permit before you go as it is on the border of Kyrgyzstan/China. This can be done via travel agency, or your tour company.
🛖 Where to stay?
Staying in Kok-Kiya valley was a treat! It was actually one of the most beautiful yurt camps we stayed out during our Kyrgyzstan travels. You can book via main booking sites or if you join a tour, this will be organised.
🥾 How to get from the Valley to Kel Suu Lake?
1. Hike - the hike is relatively easy, around 8km and most of the way is relatively flat. After a gradual ascent, you’ll see one of the bluest lakes with dramatic backdrops! Wow!
2. Horseback - most yurt camps offer horses to ride up to camp, if you need a guide that will cost extra.
🛶 Boat Tour on the Lake
It is possible to take a boat tour on the lake, there are a few options for tour durations, will cost approx 1500 soms.
✅ Recommend?
Yes! Although the journey is far, the views and being in the wild and waking up in a cosy yurt camp with amazing scenery is well worth it!
For more information, check out our YouTube channel/Instagram page with the same name @RLontheRun, and of course ask any questions!

rating my accoms at Haikou (+price included) 🏡
Pic 1 - 4: 漂浮的人 (Floating)
💰 $112.76/night
💗 The prettiest accommodation I stayed in while in Haikou! I chose a room with a sea view, and the view is so beautiful OMG… The room was really spacious, and the air conditioning was very strong! The curtains were automated too, it felt like I was watching a movie every time I opened them😆 It’s a great place to relax and zone out with the stunning view—I felt so rejuvenated after staying here!!
⚡️ The location is a bit out of the way, and there aren’t many food options around, but it wasn’t a big issue for me because food delivery is so convenient and cheap!
🏡 Pic 5 - 7: 见外精品民宿 (Jianwai Boutique Hostel)
💰 $29.99/night
💗 This was located on Qilou Old Street, and this hostel went viral on xhs because of its photogenic views (pic 7). The room was small but had everything you need! Very value for money, and there are plenty of food options nearby (including a food street!)
⚡️ It felt a little bit more rundown compared to the other two hotels I stayed in, and the air conditioning was a bit weak.
🏡 Pic 8 - 10: 朗居酒店 (Langju Hotel)
💰 $52.45
💗 I chose this accom because it’s only a 3 min walk from the largest shopping mall in Haikou (Friendship Sunshine Mall)—very convenient! The stay also comes with a free snack set (pic 10) and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had in my life (pic 9). Honestly, I’d come back just for the free breakfast 🤤
⚡️ One thing I didn’t like is that they allow smokers in the hotel lobby, so there was a weird smoky smell in my room 🤢
i love all the accoms but if i have to rank them, it will goes like this:
Langju hotel>Floating>Jianwai Boutique
The breakfast at Langju was just too good HAHA

Guide to hiking Kol Tor Lake (the BLUEST LAKE EVER)
Beautiful alpine lake at 2700m altitude just 80km from Bishkek. A 2-3 hour hike one way to get to the lake, honestly one of the bluest lakes we’ve ever seen. Hike is probably not the easiest, as it’s uphill and quite steep, but it’s well worth it at the end.
🚗How to get there ?
Via Matshruka - There is no direct public transport. You will have to organise your own taxi from the Tomok or hitchhike.
🚌 *Or join a tour* RECOMMEND - we joined a local tour (Intourist) that departed from Bishkek early in the morning, and drove us straight there. The guide hiked with us and also brought an inflatable boat for us to enjoy on the lake!
This only cost us 1190 soms per person. Definitely worth the hassle free stress of getting on the right Matshruka /working out the correct price and not getting scammed / and transport to your accomodation.
⛺️ Yurt Camps
There are some yurt camps you can stay at at the bottom of the trail head.
⛰️ The Hike
Distance: 10km with 790 elevation gain
Difficulty: Moderate
Starting from the Kor Tor Trailhead, you will follow a river up the mountain. There are a few steep sections along the way, but generally it’s a steady steep climb.
Next part of the route takes you across some open fields, always making you feel that you’re nearly there! The climb is not as steep here, but still steady elevation gain.
Once you pass the last steep uphill, you’ll see the most beautiful turquoise blue lake!
Hop in an inflatable boat, or enjoy the sunshine, or if you’re brave enough, go for a dip in the lake.

Guide to hiking the 3 day Ala Kul Lake hike! WITHOUT A GUIDE
Probably the most famous lake and hike in all of Kyrgyzstan. To get here, it sure can be tough, but well worth it in the end.
🏠 Where to stay?
Karakol is the second biggest city in Kyrgyzstan, and is the best base of the Ala Kul Hike.
🥾 The Hike
It can easily be done in 3 days
Day 1: Karakol National Park to Sirota Camp
Distance: 14km with 905m elevation gain
Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
To get to the starting point, you can either get a Matshruka (which will drop you off 2 hour walk away from the “broken bridge”) or organise a taxi (2000soms) to take you all the way to the broken bridge.
Walking along Karakol Valley is so beautiful, straight out of the stock photos! The last hour is probably the toughest, where the majority of elevation gain is here.
Day 2: Sirota Camp to Atlyn Arshan
Distance: 19km with 1125m elevation gain
Difficulty: Hard to moderate hard.
Start your day early after eating breakfast for the initial 3km incline to the Lake. You will be walking along the waterfall so you can fill up your waterbottle along the way.
Once you reach the lake and for a few photo ops, continue along the side of the mountain until Ala Kul pass. This is the highest point of elevation you will reach at 3920m. Oxygen does definitely get a bit thin up there.
Once you pass the Ala Kul pass, that is where the real fun begins. 1000m descend over 1km, very very steep slope to come down. We recommend hiking poles! And taking it slow after the steep slope, it is quite a nice but very long walk down the Atlyn Arshan river valley to Atlyn Arshan.
Day 3: Atlyn Arshan to Ak Suy
Distance: 19km with 182m incline
Difficulty: easy to moderate
After 2 days of hiking and the the beautiful sights already seen, day 3 was a bit of a drag. Although the sites were just as beautiful, it was a long slow 19km down to the bus stop.
🏕️ Tent or Yurt Camp?
There was a lot of people that did both. But due to the steep incline and decline and elevation, why not just go as light as possible!
🦮 Do I need a guide?
No! This is one of the most popular hikes in Kyrgyzstan , and you’ll definitely see people along the way. Download offline maps.me and follow the trail. Although it is not exactly “marked” the path will take you to the right place.
🏕️ Sirota Camp
Camp at 3300m, was more on the expensive side. I would advise you to book in town at one of the tour agencies. Different tour agencies will have connections of the different tents - all 4000 soms pp. Will be shared yurts and sleeping on the floor - but enough bedding to keep you warm. Includes simple breakfast and dinner. But you’ll definitely make a few friends at the campfire.
🏕️ Atlyn Arashan
There are a few yurt camps around the area, so. I would say no need to prebook. We rocked up and got a private room for 1800 soms pp + 700 soms for dinner. Included breakfast and natural hot spring.

🏖 Amalfi Coast | Discover Italy's Stunning Coastline
As a newly popular travel destination, the Amalfi Coast is located on the southern side of the Sorrento Peninsula in southern Italy 🌊. It has been designated a World Heritage site due to its rugged terrain, beautiful scenery, and historic towns.
📍 Positano Put on a pair of comfortable shoes and hike the "Path of the Gods" with friends, enjoying the warm and pleasant Mediterranean sunshine. Overlook the rugged coastline and the colorful houses stacked on the cliffs, and experience the unique charm of southern Italy. Wander through traditional Italian alleys and vintage ceramic shops. In Positano, you can also visit the iconic local building—the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, and admire the dome's "Black Madonna and Child." The beach in Positano is a black pebble beach, so don't forget to bring a pair of sandals if you plan to swim 🏖️.
🚆 Train route: Roma Tiburtina —> Firenze S.M. Novella Station —> Lucca Station —> Diecimo-pescaglia Station
📍 Amalfi In the Middle Ages, Amalfi was a cradle for law schools and mathematicians, and it remains the heart of the Amalfi Coast. In the town, you can admire the Byzantine-style Amalfi Cathedral (Duomo di Amalfi) and the small Paper Museum (Museo della Carta). Don't miss the chance to taste the local specialty, limoncello 🍹, and experience the warm hospitality and culture.
📍 Ravello Ravello boasts the highest viewpoint on the Amalfi Coast. Compared to Positano, it attracts fewer tourists. The Villa Cimbrone, built on a massive rock facing the sea, offers expansive coastal views and a relaxing atmosphere.
🚌 The most convenient way to get from Amalfi to Ravello is by bus, with services running every half hour or hour.
📍 The Blue Grotto on Capri Island | Grotta Azzurra Here, you can witness the "Sky Mirror" inside the cave. The entrance is quite low, so visitors and boatmen need to lie flat on the small boat to enter. Once inside, countless light sources reflect from the water, merging with the azure sea, creating a magical and otherworldly scene. The boatmen often sing, making the experience truly romantic!
🚤 From Positano, you can take a boat to the Blue Grotto. You can choose a 2-hour island tour or a 1-hour direct trip to the Blue Grotto.

🇪🇸 🌋 Lanzarote: Spain's Most Otherworldly Destination💓
Lanzarote, located in the northern part of Spain's Canary Islands, boasts a surreal landscape of stark volcanic rock formations and captivating deep blue coastlines. Visiting this island feels like stepping onto Mars 🪐.
🦅 Timanfaya National Park
This park encapsulates the island's unique beauty. Formed by over 100 volcanoes erupting continuously for six years, the landscape is a testament to nature's raw power. The black basaltic lava fields, dotted with ring-shaped craters and vast reddish-brown deserts, are awe-inspiring 🌍. You can explore this volcanic heartland by tour bus or opt for a more unique experience—riding a single-humped camel 🐫.
🍷 The Geria Vineyards
The volcanic eruptions covered the land with rock fragments, which the island's farmers ingeniously use to grow grapes 🍇. Each grapevine is protected in a circular stone pit, creating a unique landscape found nowhere else in the world. The volcanic soil imparts a distinctive flavor to the wine produced here, which you can sample at various wineries 🥂.
🌴 Papagayo Beach
Beyond the volcanic landscapes, you can unwind on the island's most famous beach, known for its platinum-colored sands 🏖️ and crystal-clear turquoise waters.

HOW TO SPEND YOUR FIRST 24 HOURS IN KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA🇲🇾
itinerary summary: jalan alor is a 500-metre long food street in kuala lumpur. located in the heart of the city in bukit bintang area, it is one of the busiest food streets of the world. the old-world charm of the jam-packed street stands in sharp contrast to the rest of the modernized kuala lumpur. interesting street art works line the streets here and this location is also close to merdeka square and china town. the tapak food trucks were definitely a sight to see, an array of so much food and culture on display and i enjoyed the meals i tried out here. the bukit bintang nightlife definitely surprised me, the whole street was a cacophony of clubs and bars and people, i didn’t have as much fun at the club we decided to check out. we were told that we could’ve gone to an area called trec to experience a more fun nightlife as younger people frequent there but unfortunately we were over it and just wanted to sleep lol - day one was very wholesome if i may say and i really enjoyed taking in all the sights, it definitely made up for the chaotic journey i had coming to malaysia for the first time.

My Perfect New York Morning!
I spent two fun-filled weeks in New York and this was one of my favorite itineraries.
I started my day at the famous Katz’s Deli with a mouthwatering pastrami sandwich. Getting there early is a good idea as it can get pretty hectic.
After filling up I headed for Chinatown which isn’t far away. You can take a subway but I prefer to walk as I love neighborhoods. China town is full of hustle and bustle throughout day so after a Chinese milk tea and a quick wander, I headed for he Manhattan Bridge. This is less busy than Brooklyn Bridge and you can get some great shots of the city!
At the other side of the bridge I headed down to steps to take the iconic shot of the Empire State Building between the pillars of the Manhattan Bridge. After that I began my walk towards Brooklyn Bridge to take the subway back to Manhattan.
