A well known city in china which was the capital of different dynasties over the past centuries. A place where every lover of Chinese culture must visit. You must visit The Terracotta Army unesco world heritage site as well as Xian wall, Zhonglou square and Dayanta ancient temple. Xian also has some great modern buildings and architecture for those who looking for new school style. Xi'an terracotta army, a cultural wonder.

When we read that this tourist attraction allowed around 13 000 people per hour, and 63 000 a day, we got a bit anxious. When we got there and so the queue, our anxiety grew a bit more. When we saw the crowd in the 1st pit, we just wanted to turn around, but we're glad we didn't. It's such a marvelous sight. The details on each and every one of the statues are impressive to look at. You can admire the hard work that is put into restoration, and it's good to see that the government takes good care of cultural assets. We unfortunately didn't get an audio guide as we were running late, so we had to read a bit about it. Luckily for us, there's plenty of space in the park to do so. It would have been amazing to witness how excavation and restoration are made. Anyways, we definitely enjoyed our visit here and hope the staff keeps on with the good work. Tips for travellers and how to visit: ⭐ book tickets through the WeChat mini program ⭐ to get there from Xi'an, take the metro to Huaqing pool, from there, exit and take the bus 613 or 602 ⭐ bring lots of water (once you're inside, you won't be able to buy drinks at the vending machine as they only accept Chinese credit cards) ⭐ arrive at least 30 minutes prior the end of your entry time as it can get crowded ⭐ enjoy your trip despite the crowds #terracottaarmy

⏳ A army frozen in time: What to expect from your visit to Terracotta Warriors

#cherryblossom2024 This visit was one of the most anticipated by me. These warriors arouses everybody curiosity. 🤔 Why were they built? 🫨 How long did it take? 🤯 How were they discovered? ⛔️ I will not give you spoilers. You must visit and figure out by yourself, just because it’s more magical like that ✨ ✅ what to expect then: The place is not that big, you can see all the 3 pits within 2 hours. First, go straight to pit 1. It is where most of the warriors are. It also includes the warriors “hospital”, where you can see them laying on literally hospital stretchers (that’s a bit funny 😁), but it’s a really serious work to repair all the broken ones 🫡 ✅ only ONE among thousands of warriors is intact. That one is exposed in a glass display. It’s called “the lucky warrior”. You can see all details up close 🧡 😋 you must try the warrior ice cream. It’s delicious and cute. ❌ After visiting the 3 pits. You can go to the emperor mausoleum. But don’t expect to see his tomb. You will not have access to it. Instead, there are the 2 carriages with bronze horses that you might like to see🐴 I don’t think it’s with though. 💛💛💛 additional tip 💛💛💛 If you are lucky one of the persons who first discovered the warriors sometimes is there selling some books. We spent three days as a family in Xi'an! It was enough to see the city and visit the Terracotta Army Museum! The first recommendation is to find a bus that will take you to the Terracotta Army Museum. From the square near the railway station (the station of ordinary trains, not high-speed ones, located next to the city wall), buses no longer run like five years ago. Taxi drivers don't know it either. I had to ride, and one local resident nevertheless wrote to us where to look for bus 306 (I attach the screen). But we no longer began to go there, but ordered a taxi directly to the Terracotta Army. Through the application of a taxi cost 75 baths. We also went back by taxi for 85 yuan, also ordered through the application on the phone. The second recommendation concerns visiting the city wall. Tickets can be purchased via WeChat or paper tickets at the offices next to the wall entrances. Almost no one speaks English, and through an interpreter they themselves often do not understand what they want and need from them. As a result, we took tickets for the whole day for 54 yuan. In the evening there is a light show together with the theater! Beautiful! But we couldn’t get there because at the box office they said that tickets for the wall are valid for the show, but it turned out not to be so. Tickets need to be purchased separately and cost 280 yuan alone. The third recommendation for visiting the Pagoda. Entrance to the territory of the Pagoda is possible only until 17:30. Therefore, they did not enter the territory. And as an amateur to shoot with a camera and a drone, recommendations. In general, flying and shooting from a drone is prohibited, but as the locals said, it is not strictly controlled. Therefore, you can take off from a quiet place near the sights, fly not low, shoot and return. Over the bell tower in the evening drones like mosquitoes))). You can also visit the mountains near Xi'an, but we decided to dedicate a separate trip to this! We loved Xi'an! Beautiful city! Lots of history! Lots of Chinese culture! I saw the Terracotta Army - Xian 西安

First time going to Xian and it was amazing. Firstly, the Terracotta Army is a must see. The site was huge and you can easily spend several hours there. I would strongly recommend going with a tour guide as they can tell you a lot more about the history of the site. You can also see a lot of the history in the downtown areas of Xian, with plenty of walls and towers to visit. I would also strongly recommend visiting the Muslim Quarter, as they have some of the best lamb and noodle dishes I have ever tasted. #xian #terracottaarmy #terracottawarriors #china

#2023travelwish Xi’an was on my bucket list for a long time. I finally made it and had the chance to visit the Terracotta Warriors. 📍Location: Xi’an (Outside of the city center. You can take the subway and get a DiDi from there.) Attractions: Famous Terracotta Warriors (Known as the 8th wonder of the world). The clay warriors were found in 1974 by local farmers. When visiting the site, make sure you go meet one of the farmers that found the clay warriors. Ask around to find out where his shop is. I had the chance to meet him and he signed my book. Terracotta Warriors & Horses is probably the most famous and visited place in the city of Xi'An Address: Qinling North Road, Lintong District. The recommended sightseen time is between one to two hours. The museum includes Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3 as well the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses. The Pit 1 is the largest of the three. The original site was found by a local farmer digging a well in 1974. Now it has turned into the most important attraction in Xian. Come early because its gets very crowded later in the day. Beautiful Tourist Trap in China

Have you ever dreamed about seing real China? Or traveling all the way to Xi’An to see a wonder - Terracotta Warriors? Well, I managed to do it for you, and here is my humble opinion: 1. If you want to see traditional China - go. Try biangbiang noodles, stir fried chrysanthemum, osmanthus wine and a bunch of different interesting street food. The price for biangbiang noodels does not go above 25 RMB and most of the other streetfood you can get within 10-20 RMB range(some things even cheaper). And enjoy your stay. 2. If you think that your trip to Terracotta Army will be great, do not even dream about it. Firstly, public transport: no straight buses/trains/shuttles from city centre. You almost always have to call a DiDi. Also, considering the distance, it becomes pricey. Then, it is recommended to go early - the earliest admission starts at 8:30 and ends at 9:30. I did it, and ended up being extremely disappointed because of the crazy crowd around it. It was a real nightmare. 3. No matter which attraction you go to, water is double to triple the original price. Never saw that in Inner Mongolia, Beijing, TongLi, Suzhou or Shanghai. 4. Attractions within City Wall are beautiful, but quite pricey compared to china overall. 5. I want to Camel Bell performance. Great, beautiful, but if you cannot sprak chinese ask for yhe tickets on the right side to read the screen (and you might miss half of the performance due to that). Incredible experience I had exploring the world-famous Terracotta Museum today. The size of Pit 1 is mind-boggling. Spanning across an area of approximately 14,000 sqm, it is equivalent to the size of about 2 football fields. And what I saw inside was nothing short of breathtaking. Thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors, horses, and chariots filled the pit, all meticulously crafted and arranged in battle formation. The astonishing Terracotta Army!

Terracotta Army Built by China’s first emperor Qin Shi Huang of the Qin Dynasty 2,200 years ago. When he was just 13 years old, he wanted a mausoleum as big as a city built for him to protect him in the afterlife. The city sized mausoleum is guarded by the life sized Terracotta Army of more than 8,000 life sized soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 Calvary horses. Also among the army were 40,000 real bronze weapons Construction took 38 years to build, by 720,000 workers (from 247BC - 208 BC). The Terracotta Army was first discovered in 1974 by five farmers when they were digging a well. One of the farmers is still alive. Today, there are about 108 pits discovered but only 3 pits are open to the public. All the warriors were discovered broken except for one kneeling archer that was found intact (slide 3). He is called the lucky warrior. It takes about one year to put one warrior back together using the same technique (including baking the clay in 950 -1200 degrees heat for a week). Each warrior weighs 100kg. I was exploring the place myself, although there is an option to hire a guide. by myself I felt more flexible and free. Do not recommend to visit the place during the peak season, as the city of great historical importance attracts lots of tourists, so during the peak season you have a risk not to see anything

XIAN- 3 MUST Visit Places in Xian!

1. The City Wall This is one of the ancient largest military defences in the world and it is also well preserved. To enter the city wall you have to pay 54rmb. You can cycle around the wall or just enjoy strolling around while taking great photos. Free for children and senior citizens.. just doubke check the height requiremenents for a free entrance for your kids. 2. Terracotta Warriors Of course, this is the main attraction in Xian. We took the subway and bus going to this place. Metro line 2 to Beidajie then Line 1 to Fangzhicheng then Line 9 to Huaqing Pool Station. Afterwards we took 602 bus. This is a long ride that takes around 2 hours. We bought the tickets by the entrace for 120rmb each and we spent 3 hours inside. 3. Bell Tower You can easily spot this in the city coz it is located downtown. We never had the chance to go inside and see the city from above the tower but we enjoyed looking at it lit up at night. We tried to buy but ticket office was close already. So make sure you go there early to avail tickets for the day or for the next day. Ticket price is I guess 35rmb 4. Muslim Quarters My gosh I wish I had 2 bellies coming to this.place. I kade a huge mistake though looking and asking for pork for like a good 5 minutes then we realized how wrong that was hahaha! Terracotta army-just for a tick in UNESCOlist

Visiting terracotta army was the biggest disappointment of the summer for a few reasons: 1. Herds of tourists and terrible heat this July 2. Overpriced (for a hall of statues... ) Well, I could still recommend to go there to those, who don't have overestimated expectations and NOT during summer holidays. My tour included a visit to Huaqing palace in the morning which I liked better (all pictures but the first are from that site), even had some time to hike the "mountain". However, if you prepare in advance and learn a bit about Xian's incident, you can see a play of the same name there at the Scenic spot (I missed it because I didn't prepare well enough in advance and regretted afterwards) #terracottaarmy #xian
