Sha Tau Kok! Exploring the Interplay of Sea, Mountains, Geology, Islands, Sun, and Moon.
During my recent trip to Sha Tau Kok Pier, I had the incredible opportunity to experience the mesmerizing art installation "Interwoven Horizon" by the multi-disciplinary artist En Iwamura from Japan. This captivating creation beautifully intertwines the elements of the sea, mountains, geology, islands, sun, and moon, creating a harmonious fusion of art and nature. As the installation leisurely floats in the sea near the pier, it serves as a visual symphony against the backdrop of the breathtaking natural landscape. En Iwamura's work is a testament to his deep connection with nature, drawing inspiration from the surroundings to highlight the intricate details of the landscape and geological formations near Sha Tau Kok. The interplay of natural colors in his art adds a touch of magic to the already stunning scenery. Exploring "Interwoven Horizon" was a truly immersive experience that allowed me to appreciate the beauty of the environment in a new light, merging artistic expression with the wonders of nature. It was a journey that left me in awe of the intricate ties that bind the elements together in perfect harmony.

Stepping Into a Fairytale: My Unforgettable Adventure in Český Krumlov
#europetrip #ceskykrumlov #czechrepublic #historical #travel #thingstodo
Visiting Český Krumlov felt like stepping into a storybook. This UNESCO World Heritage site, with its medieval charm and stunning architecture, is a perfect blend of history, culture, and beauty. My journey began at the Budějovická brána, the grand gateway to the castle complex, where the magnificence of the State Castle immediately captivated me. Wandering through its historic halls and exhibitions, I could feel the echoes of its regal past.
The Cloak Bridge was another highlight, an architectural marvel connecting the castle to the lush Castle Gardens. Standing on the bridge, I imagined the royal processions of old, while the gardens offered a peaceful retreat and sweeping views of the town. The Castle Tower provided the grand finale, offering panoramic vistas of Český Krumlov’s cobblestone streets, vibrant rooftops, and the winding Vltava River.
Exploring the Old Town was equally enchanting. The narrow alleys led me to the Gothic splendor of St. Vitus Church and quirky shops like Botanicus and Koh-I-Noor, where I found unique souvenirs. A cozy lunch at the historic Hotel Růže let me savor the flavors of local cuisine in a setting rich with charm.
Crossing Lazebnický most, I soaked in views of the serene Vltava River before ending my day at the Castle Tower, where the fairy-tale town unfolded beneath me. Český Krumlov is truly a destination where history, art, and nature blend seamlessly into a dream-like experience.
I found a rocky Jurassic Park
I found a neat dinosaur stone statue park in Terelj National Park, Mongolia. This place is around the corner from the notorious Turtle Rock. Many real life dinosaur remains have also been discovered in Mongolia over the years, thus dinosaurs are an integral part of the modern culture. Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbatar even has a mall with massive dinosaur bones and skeletons on display.
The dinosaur statue park has a small entrance fee of 2,000 tugrik. Which was around 30 cents (.30) in US dollars. Some of the statues are small and some are ginormous. It was well worth a visit and gives you a unique sense of wonder. Most of the statues are in great shape but a few of them had crumbling parts and I wish someone would perform maintenance more frequently.
The entrance fee is cheap but many visit everyday. The park is very wide and spread out therefore it is not too crowded. I did not upload pictures of all of the dinosaurs so go see for yourself!

Alaska’s Trip for colorful sky experience - Northern lights
#auroralight
#naturalwonders
#couplestrip
#thingstodo
💞Experiencing the northern lights, or aurora borealis, in Alaska is a bucket-list adventure for many travelers. Alaska offers some of the best opportunities to witness this natural phenomenon due to its location within the auroral zone.
### Tour Options - depending on your budget
- **Guided Tours**: Many companies offer guided northern lights tours from Fairbanks and Anchorage, which include transportation, expert guidance, and sometimes photography assistance. Ranging within 1000 USD
- **Aurora Viewing Lodges**: Some lodges and cabins specialize in aurora viewing, providing cozy accommodations with large windows or outdoor hot tubs for comfortable viewing.
- **Dog Sledding and Snowmobiling**: Combine your aurora viewing with an adventurous activity like dog sledding or snowmobiling.
Best Time to Visit
- **Peak Season**: The best time to see the northern lights in Alaska is from late August to April. The darkest months, particularly from December to March, offer the highest chances of clear skies and extended viewing hours.
- **Avoiding the Midnight Sun**: In the summer months, the midnight sun results in almost continuous daylight, making it nearly impossible to see the auroras.
### Best Locations
- **Fairbanks**: Known as one of the best places in the world for viewing the aurora, Fairbanks is located under the "auroral oval," a ring-shaped zone over the far north where auroras are most frequently observed.
- **Denali National Park**: Offers stunning landscapes and a good chance of seeing the lights away from city lights.
- **Anchorage**: While not as ideal as Fairbanks, you can still see the aurora, especially if you venture outside the city.
- **Coldfoot and the Brooks Range**: More remote and offers an authentic wilderness experience with excellent viewing opportunities.
- **Nome and Barrow (Utqiaġvik)**: These locations offer unique cultural experiences along with aurora viewing.
### Tips for Viewing
- **Stay Up Late**: The best time for viewing is usually between 10 PM and 3 AM.
- **Check the Forecast: Use aurora forecast websites or apps to predict the likelihood of aurora activity.
- **Dress Warmly**: Temperatures can drop significantly, so wear layers and insulated clothing.
- **Plan for Flexibility**: Weather conditions can change rapidly, so having a flexible schedule can increase your chances of seeing the aurora.
- **Photography**: If you plan to take photos, bring a tripod and use a camera with manual settings to capture the lights effectively.
### Cultural and Natural Attractions
- **Cultural Experiences**: Learn about Indigenous cultures and history in places like Fairbanks and Anchorage.
- **Wildlife Viewing**: Take advantage of Alaska's wildlife opportunities, such as spotting moose, caribou, and even polar bears in certain areas.

💞Reasons to Recommend: Queensland Cruising Yacht Club has the stunning waterfront view of the Cabbage Tree and Nundah Creek Rivers alongside beautiful yachts and greenery. They also have outdoor and indoor dining areas with plenty of space. Surprisingly, it was not busy on a Saturday morning. But still, we suggest booking a table in advance to secure a good spot. The big breakfast is appetizing and affordable. I also love their hot chocolate. A Tropical Staycation to Remember
#singaporetrip
Ever since Dusit Thani Laguna opened in Singapore, me and my sister have been wanting to stay there for a night. The unique structure with glass panels and organic shape made me more eager to try it out. Come July, we decided to spend my sister's birthday at the hotel and booked a Prestige Verandah Pool View Suite for a night. We loved the room as it came with a bathtub, a requirement whenever we do staycations. The room is located on a corner, with 2 sides decked in glass from ceiling to floor with a pool view, and the other side with a verandah and an outdoor bathtub & shower feature covered with plants. The room is pretty nice. It has two sinks, separate shower and toilet enclosure, has an outdoor table and chairs at the verandah, seating area inside the room, and a study table and chair. The bed is super comfortable. Overall the room was nice and we enjoyed the room, I just wished that the service and staff at that time were at par with how good the hotel is, because in the end, the room is expensive and it would let us expect a nicer service.

No trip to Nara is complete without visiting the Nara Park!
#japantrip #nara #narapark #japan #travel #thingstodo #myitinerary
Nara Park and the deer are probably the only reason for many to visit Nara. It takes approximately 1 hour from Osaka to Nara by car and many would do it for a day trip (we stayed in Nara for a night). The Nara Park is huge and would require a bit of walking so be prepared to dress up accordingly. As soon as you arrive at the Park, you will find the wild deer roaming around (with some begging for treats). Aside from that, you will probably smell an unpleasant animal manure stench. To complete your experience in Nara Park, grab a stack of Grain Crackers to feed the deer for 200Yen, but mind you- some deer will attack you so play smart. For us- we looked for the younger and clumsy ones and we were not attacked. We did witness some tourists being attacked (not seriously).
Walk to one end of the Nara Park and you will find Todai-Ji Temple- one of the largest wooden structure and famous temples in Japan. We did not get to explore further as the temple was due to close (we visited at around 4PM local time) but suggest to take some photos at the pond right in front of Todai-Ji.

The city’s vibrant markets, like the Central Market, are perfect for picking up souvenirs or tasting street food that blends Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences. Don’t miss the Batu Caves, where hundreds of steps lead you to a series of temples inside massive limestone caves.
For nature lovers, Malaysia’s rainforests are among the oldest in the world. A visit to Taman Negara National Park will immerse you in its lush greenery, with opportunities for canopy walks, jungle treks, and wildlife spotting. If you’re more into island life, head to the Perhentian Islands for crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life, ideal for diving or snorkeling.
Penang is a food lover’s paradise, where street food is an art form. From the famous char kway teow to nasi lemak, each bite offers a glimpse into Malaysia’s multicultural history. Georgetown, with its UNESCO-listed heritage sites, showcases a blend of colonial architecture and vibrant street art.
For an unforgettable experience, explore the highlands of Cameron or Genting, where cool weather, tea plantations, and theme parks await. Whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or cultural immersion, Malaysia offers an endless array of experiences that promise to leave you enchanted.

spacious cafe
It is way more than coffee. Infact has a proper kitchen with a very good sitting space. They have really good food and coffee, but sometimes they struggle with taking orders, and have got my order wrong multiple times. Maybe the staff were still being trained.
This one time, they brought the wrong size coffee and then had to pay for an extra coffee that I didn’t even order, however I did get a refund. I have also been told large coffee are single shot, but they’re generally double. Their cabinet food is good quality, fresh and delicious. I recommend the breakfast brioche bun. The coffee are always well made

excellent food
The coffee is superb and the food is worthy of a Michelin Star imo. I've been there at least 10 times now and everything is immaculate and complex from coffee to flavours in the dishes. Opting for the Avo on toast with fried halloumi and the signature breakfast.
Accompanied by a couple of coffees, our status as food enthusiasts was affirmed by the delightful explosion of flavors and innovative approach to traditional breakfast fare. It's safe to say that this experience has set a new standard, as we both agreed that it was the best breakfast we've ever had.
