Easy to do on your own without joining a tour. 1. Get a didi or a bus to Yulong Mountain from your hotel 🚌 2. Purchase entrance tickets and then head to the ticket office to purchase cableway tickets depending on the one you want💴 3. Get the shuttle bus to the designated cableway or scenic spot. We stopped at the Blue Moon Valley first then the Yushiping cableway which was at the same spot 🚡 4. We got the cableway to Yushiping to the meadow and walked around. There’s a great little cafe up there that had an amazing vegetarian sandwich and an oat milk coffee latte which have been hard to come by on our trip ☕️ Weather was perfect and we went in the morning so not a lot of people. The best time of my life ever! It was really unforgettable to see the beautiful nature with my own eyes. I got inspired so much just to being in there . Nature is so amazing and powerful in itself it’s just too beautiful that i wanna cry , the water is actually really blue I didn’t use any filter and the mountains with sky just like a paint of art work. Really fun for retirees. The worst thing about this experience was that we had to wait in a long queue. The rafting that we did lasted about 1.5 hours. We were in line at number 302, and we had to wait about 3 hours. I will say right away, it’s better not to wait on the spot, but take a walk somewhere, especially if you rent a scooter. By the way, there were points where there was a queue of 700+ people. The rafting itself went well: beautiful views, calm walking of the boat, I wanted to sleep. I heard from some people conversations that passengers at the end of the journey were asked for money for being photographed or just a tip. Lashi lake wetland park is located 14 km from Lijiang Old Town, excellent place if you have a few hours to space, or you wish a nice one day trip. This scenic spot is very popular for bird watching, also to experience the Tea Horse Road by yourself. This area is home of two minorities: Naxi people and Yi people. Additionally, this wetland is a Ramsar site. Horse riding can take between 30 to 90 minutes depending of the route you chose. Wetland park costs ¥30, or ¥50 if you want to experience birdwatching in boat. Most birds are types of gooses and ducks, although 57 different species have been identified to migrate during winter. Inside the park, you get to visit the museum, a Naxi people nature god museum and several corridors with beautiful scenery. There are many rose decorations for some reason. Also, there are few shops in the entrance area of the park. 🚣‍♂️ It’s only inside certain park area, not allowed to go to Lashi lake. You get to chose between kayak, paddle boat or small motor boat (managed by local). Yulong park has few options for gaining your strength after going around the park. Yunnan is popularly known for its rice noodles particular style, and inside the park we only found one noodles option: Divine Dinning. Plates are big, tasty, and few offers give you the possibility of creating your own style of rice noodles! Either with beef, chicken, vegetables, different types of tofu or mushrooms. You can also add few ingredients or sauces/vinegars to create your own mix. If you are not so fond of noodles, few rice options are available. On the other hand, tea rice as staple for rice noodles is a must! Even if there’s sun outside, cold wind gets you. So this particular mix was all the energy I needed to continue my trip on another part of the park! This scenic spot requires your full strength. Snow amount varies depending from season, however the scenery from the summit, and be able to prove yourself you did it, is amazing. Great places for pictures (enjoy the coolest alpaca ever). You need to take a cable car to summit. Stairs from there are your best friend and worst enemy. You can find food shops along the way, too keep energy and warmth. 💲Inside the park are many restaurants and shops. You can rent a waterproof warm coat if required. If you need oxygen before the cable car, buy more. To avoid complications and additional charges, visit the park with a group tour. 🏔 You go over 2,500m in few hours. Don’t risk your body, listen to your heart beat. If you want to visit a majestic valley with clear waters that come from a sacred glacial, the Blue Moon Valley in Yulong National Park is a must visit. Altitude for BMV is 3,600m. You can take local bus, distance to the park is 13 km and costs only 20 RMB (leaves from Lijiang Old Town North Gate). This freezing blueish water transforms in white during rainy season. Located in the Jade Dragon 🐉 Snow Mountain park, this scenic spot will stay in your mind forever. I suggest you to visit as early as possible, to avoid crowd spaces. This park in general is huge, and every spot can be incredibly iconic. Inside the park are many restaurants and shops, some are quite expensive. You can bring your own food. Also, you can rent a waterproof warm coat if temperature is too low, or buy additional oxygen if you need it. Although, it’s better to buy your own in Lijiang town (inside the park costs are 2-3 times more). 🔅 Only Chinese can pre-book tickets online. To avoid complications and additional charges, I’ll advice you to go to the park with a local group tour. ⚠️ You need to keep your passport with you at all times, pay many different tickets and show different health codes. A beautiful paddock hidden in the Lijiang mountains, Wenhai is a dreamlike area with coffee shops and horse riding surrounding a lake. There were not many people here, especially compared to the crowded ancient towns nearby. When the sun shines on the flat lake it sparkles and shines creating a beautiful romantic effect. Watching the horses run in the distance really made it feel like we were in a fairytale! ✨🏔️ ✨Recommendations: 1- Buy Oxygen tanks! There’s a convenience store selling snacks and oxygen tanks; I definitely recommend having an oxygen tank on hand if you plan on spending a few hours here. We didn’t realise how high up we were and were running around a lot which resulted in a bad headache 😂😭 2- organise transport ahead of time! I recommend renting a car for your time in Lijiang/ Yulong to make it easier to access these hidden gems. We called a Didi to take us from Baisha ancient town to Huashu Coffee shop in Wenhai and got picked up quickly with no problems. However, when we tried to call a car to take us back to Baisha, no cars on any taxi apps would pick us up. This was due to the fact that there is only one main road to Wenhai and it is up a twisty mountain road (not as easy drive). The show was an add-on for our tour to Yulong snow mountain. We did not expect much but it turned out to be very exciting. There were more than 100 actors singing and dancing, demonstrating the traditions and lifestyles of the Naxi people; the backdrop of Yulong mountain made it really impressive.
