Dine by Chao Praya Riverside
#thingstodo
Thailand do not only entice tourists with a mix of modern and ancient tourist spots, but also it’s the food that people keep coming back for. When we were planning for our Bangkok trip, we made sure to at least eat at 1 or 2 restaurants that are famous or included in the Michelin guide. One of the two restaurants we tried is Supanniga Eating Room.
Supanniga Eating Room is included in the Michelin Guide. I recommend eating here when visiting the temples of Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and the Grand Place as it’s located nearby. The stand-alone restaurant has a pretty modern exterior with charming interiors. All the food & drinks we tried were super good and spicy! Haha. I loved the mocktails we ordered. Another reason for dining here is that the restaurants is located riverside thus offering good views of the ferries traversing the waters. The restaurant also offers a view of Wat Arun as it’s just opposite the temple. Our seats provided a good view of Wat Arun. The restaurant also has rooftop seating with unblocked views of Wat Arun and Chao Praya.

Stay at a Green Tower in the middle of CBD
Located just a stone’s throw away from Tanjong Pagar MRT, Oasia Hotel Downtown by Far East Hospitality is a hotel that serves as an escape in the middle of the busy CBD. The building is recognizable due to its unusual façade. The building is wrapped in red cladding holding the creeping plants. This tower of green is a refreshing sight in the middle of concrete blocks of the city.
We booked a club room with club benefits for an overnight staycation. Booking for this type of room includes an exclusive access to the club floor, club lounge, and infinity pool at level 21. The check-in is also done at this level. You can also choose to have your breakfast at this level. The colors, patterns, furniture, and design features used in the facilities especially in the club level all invoke a tropical resort feeling.
Review:
Staff – the check-in staff at the club level were nice and pleasant. Club lounge staff were also accommodating.
Location – located in the CBD with lots of dining establishments around the hotel, near to tourist spots. A few minutes wall from the nearest MRT.
Accessibility – lifts are available.
Facilities – as mentioned club lounge, club level and infinity pool are all available for use for club rooms. The lounge was great with free cocktails/drinks and snacks and cozy ambiance. The infinity pool was pretty too. The 2 rooftop pools are also available for use.
Room – I loved the room. The sliding door that separates the bathroom can be left opened when not in use, making the room look more spacious. The wooden accents & pattern gives the room a warmer ambiance. The room also offers an infinity pool view.
Dining – there are 3 available dining options, but we didn’t get to try any of them. The breakfast was good.
Overall – I would love to go back and stay there again. For the location and exclusivity of the club facilities, the price is worth it.

Stay Where Culture and Modernity Collides
Located at Cross St in the middle of the CBD, the Clan Hotel is a modern hotel with culture as it’s foundation. A stay in this hotel is an experience that’s worth trying. From the entrance to check-out, everything is well though out. The interior and services offered all align with the nostalgia that the hotel wants the guests to experience. I also love the concept that even in the middle of the CBD, the high-rise hotel will remind you of the old times, that there was a tradition present and still continuing in these modern streets.
The entrance of the hotel is discreet and to reach the main lobby, you must take a lift. The lobby greeting you is impressive. I felt intimidated with the high ceiling and décor. The interior felt very Asian-inspired with the heavy use of wood and dark colours. The floor to ceiling windows shows a view of the surrounding shophouses which completes the concept of the hotel. As what I’ve read, a tea ritual will be done for guests upon check-in. When we checked-in though there was no ritual done, but instead we just got served the biscuit and tea while waiting for the check-in process to be done. We enjoyed the night swim in one of the hotel’s facilities, the sky pool. The view from the pool is amazing!
What I loved the most with our stay is the room. We booked a Grand Premier Double Room with great views since it’s a corner room. The bathtub is the main reason we booked this room. It’s so pretty! The room also has the mini bar items that we chose upon booking time. Whenever I choose a hotel, I always gravitate towards hotels that offer something unique and different. The room came with our own tea set including the tea and biscuits. I enjoyed the room more because of these amenities and features. The breakfast included was served in their in-house restaurant, Qin Restaurant & Bar. We chose from a selection available, and it was delicious!
The location of the hotel is good since there’s an MRT close, Telok Ayer station. The hotel is also near tourist spots. There are also lots of dining options outside the hotel if you plan to eat outside. I would love to stay at this hotel again!

Inspiring spiral bookstore in Shenzhen
#shenzhentrip
📌"Shenzhen Zhongshuge bookstore" 深圳钟书阁
📍Address: L1-021, East Bank Building, No. 2
Happy Harbor, Haifu Road 240 metres away from metro line 5 Linhai station exit B2
The Shenzhen Zhongshuge bookstore is replete with a massive, cinematic bookshelf snaking and spiraling within it, illuminating the space as a sculptural piece. A magnificent and surreal new bookstore invites visitors to take a one-of-a-kind walk through space and time.
Bookstore Shenzhen Zhongshuge contains a concept area, a forum, a conference area, and a children’s reading space. The concept area is located at the building’s corner, with a vast glass façade that removes the spatial barrier between the inside and outdoors, emphasizing the spaciousness.
Thanks to the soft lighting, the interior of this building provides a welcoming, dreamlike ambiance. The surreal quality is reinforced by the reflecting black tile flooring, which highlights a floating impression of a tranquil lake.
Zhongshuge is a chain of bookshops across China renowned for imaginative interiors. The bookstore can be found in the Qianhai economic zone of the city of Shenzhen.

The KL Journal
Revel at a premier 4-Star hotel who have been established in 2015, the hotel seems well-maintained and looks fresh & new. The hotel gave me a pleasant stay and it is beyond my expectation. Super-friendly and courteous staff. Love the vintage retro of the interior design.

Magical Zhongshuge Bookstore, Chongqing
Location - 3rd & 4th Floor of Zodi Plaza, Yangjiaping District, Chongqing, China.
Forget about the books, the moment when you entered the shop, be prepared to be amazed with the stunning interior design, architecturally speaking. Using mirror as ceiling created a fantastical reflecting surfaces that makes the entire space within the shop seemingly endless and massive.😄
* the bookstore prohibits the visitors from using digital camera to take photos inside(most probably to avoid disturbing the others with the shutter clicks), so please be considerate😊

Not another boring bookstore!🥳📚🔖✨
Tired of boring bookstores? No worries 😁 Let me introduce: Zhongshuge! This amazing bookstore is visually appealing with its mirrored ceilings creating this reflective illusion of symmetry, an oval room with stepped shelves lined with lights underlining its shape and a kid’s reading room with a rollercoaster inspired interior! 📚🎢🪞
In the centre, there’s a corridor with tables and bookshelves on both sides. There’s also a coffee bar where you can grab a coffee and sit around with a book. I saw people working on their laptops, but I wouldn’t personally recommend as the bookstore was pretty crowded and pretty noisy. You can easily feel overwhelmed with people constantly on the move around you as the bookstore isn’t so big. Most books are Chinese books. Some books have English titles but they were translated versions.
Nevertheless it’s a great spot to snap nice photos and appreciate a creative and visually appealing interior 🤗
Address: Zhongshuge 钟书阁, Binjiang Star Avenue
江南大道星光国际广场4-213号
How to go ➡️ I took metro 🚇 line 1 to Jiangling Road and walked for 15 mins to Star Avenue (It’s a mall and the bookstore is upstairs)

The building clusters were thoughtfully designed to co-exist with the re-created natural landscape.
