Windsor Castle Must Know 🏰🇬🇧
Trips on visiting Windsor Castle:
1) Fee is 33 pounds as of November 2024
2) The place is really crowded so I encourage going early so you can walk through each bit. We spent 4 hours just walking around
3) Make sure you catch the Guard change. It takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11am.
4) Taking pictures are not allowed inside the castle
5) Highly recommend trying pies at
The Carpenters Arms, 5 mins from the castle.
6) There are free audio guides available

Windsor Castle! 🇬🇧
#traveldiaries
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. A royal home and fortress for more than 900 years, it remains a working palace to this day, and is the official residence of His Majesty The King. 👑
The magnificent State Apartments is decorated with some of the finest works of art in the Royal Collection.
Admire Queen Mary's Doll's House – the largest dolls’ house in the world – and St George's Chapel, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married in 2018 and where Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest in 2022.
The Moat Room gives an overview of the castle's 950-year history, with three largescale bronze models showing how the castle looked at different moments in time.
🚂 Getting there: Travel to Windsor by train from London Paddington to Windsor and Eton Central station, with services taking as little as 22 minutes. Trains also run from London Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside, taking just under an hour.
💰Average Price per Person: £28
🕰️Business Hours: Monday, Thursday to Sunday
March to October: 10am to 5.15pm (last admission 4pm).

Comfortable Stay at TownePlace Suites Windsor
#hotelreview
My recent stay at TownePlace Suites Windsor was a comfortable and convenient experience in the heart of Ontario's charming city. There's really nothing much to do in this town but just wanted to see what the most west side of Canada looks like. This hotel offers guests a cozy retreat with spacious suites and modern amenities. The rooms were well-equipped with kitchenettes and separate living areas, providing a homelike atmosphere during my visit. 😌
What sets TownePlace Suites Windsor apart is its central location and thoughtful amenities, including complimentary breakfast, fitness center, and free Wi-Fi. The friendly staff and their commitment to guest satisfaction added to the overall sense of warmth. Whether relaxing in the indoor pool or exploring the nearby attractions, every moment was filled with comfort and convenience. 🏊♂️🍳
For travelers seeking a relaxing and convenient stay in Windsor, TownePlace Suites Windsor is the perfect choice for a memorable visit to Ontario.

Extremely fun family day out to Legoland Windosr UK
A great place to hangout with family and friends. We reached there at around 10 am and thought that we are very early and what will we do for the entire day. But as the day passed we found it very difficult to cover the entire resort in that limited time. The resorts closing time is 6pm however we left ad around 6.45 and there was a huge crowd which did so. And even after leaving that late we were thinking that we could spend more time there. Since it's summer holidays and especially we went there on a bank holiday it was super crowded and busy. The first ride we took had a waiting time of around an hour. And all the major rides had the same waiting time but all were worth the wait. The rides I liked specially were the water splash, the haunted house and the fairy tale ride. The fairy tale ride was so fascinating that we took it twice, and also because it was not that busy. It is recommended that you take spare clothes if you want to indulge in the water rides. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, though they are a bit expensive. Highly recommended #legoland #windsor #uk #familydayout #fun #lego #resort
Royal home visit
Christmas vibes in #windsor #castle 🎄. Was very tempted by the food market on the high street. Regret not getting the chimney cake! Also check out the small fairground with an ice rink and cute christmassy food stalls.
Enzo’s Restaurant in Windsor
Apart from being famous for the Windsor Castle, the small town of Windsor is also a good place for shopping and eating. It has an unique feeling and some restaurants are actually very good.
I visited Enzo’s restaurant which is a family owned business ran by an Italian family. the typical philosophy concerning food in Italy is that the good ingredients make up the good food. Enzo’s Chef doesn’t make any exceptions to this rule. As a guest, you can easily see that the ingredients used for the food are in the very first priority. As a result, the restaurant offers very tasty Italian food and the service is not bad either. I definitely recommend that restaurant and will most probably go again.

The riverside pier in Windsor
Many tourists want to go to Windsor to see the castle. But not all the visitors notice that actually there’s an interesting place to see just near the castle in Windsor.
The River Thames is separating Windsor from Eton and the riverside pier on the Windsor side is definitely worth seeing!
I know those swans are mainly there because people feed them but it’s really amazing. Despite the fact that I’m from Finland which almost considers swans to be national birds, I have never seen so many swans in one place and from so near. The swans and some geese and ducks too do profit on the attention given to them. People can buy relatively cheap bags of food and feed them. So for birds and tourists it’s kind of a win-win situation.
So just next to the castle. At the riverbank, there’s really something worth seeing. Don’t miss it!

St. John the Baptist Church
I visited this chapel on my way to the long walk. It’s located just near the Windsor Castle entrance and there is no admission fee but opening times are only from 10 am until 4 pm.
St. George’s Chapel is a gothic revival style chapel in the village of Windsor. The current chapel replaced the previous one in the early 1820’s.
The Last Supper painting by Francis Cleyn is hanging on the back wall of the church. It was presented to the church by George III in 1788 (before the new church was built to replace the old one).
The church also features a Royal Pew which was a gift from Princess Augusta who used to go to that church.
The church is a good place to visit while in Windsor but it’s very quickly visited. If you plan a day in Windsor I recommend you to pay a visit.

The Windsor Long Walk
This one is for the one who wants to exercise while traveling. The Long Walk of Windsor is indeed a long walk. It’s a 2.64 mile (4.2 Km) long straight path which runs from the Windsor Castle through the Windsor Castle Park and also the Deer Park to the Statue of King George III located on the place called Snow Hill.
It’s a very comfortable walk and the road and terrain is easy to walk but the visitors must pay attention to the safety while crossing the fairly surprisingly located busy road which runs across the path about in the middle. The gates near the last third are meant to keep deer park animals from going out.
If you visit the village of Windsor or the castle and have a few hours of extra time to spend, doing the long walk and having a picnic near the path is a good idea in my opinion. The views are amazing and you can even spot some big planes from
there.

Canada's border town
Windsor sits on the border between the US and Canada and is consequently is just right across from Detroit.
In some regards, it's also like Detroit, an industrial city that seems to be somewhat forgotten, however it's still a nice jump off point to visit in conjunction with Detroit.
You can also easily stay in Windsor and head over to Detroit to visit, as hotels seem to be somewhat cheaper than Detroit. You can then easily get over to the US using a public bus.
When visiting the city, definitely walk along the waterfront where you'll get amazing views of the Detroit river and of course of Detroit itself. It's a lovely and relaxing promenade if you just want to stroll.
Overall, Windsor is a small sized city that's nice to visit, especially if visiting in conjunction with Detroit. Head here for sweeping views of Detroit and usually cheaper hotel rooms.

Windsor on a rainy day - does it get any more British?
Visited Windsor for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Well connected by public transport it was easy enough to get to and we got dropped off right in the centre.
The market in the Main Street was nice with lots of food to choose from and also all other stores were nice to grab a hot drink or something to eat for lunch.
We walked around, spent time at the river and strolled through the park.
Was this the best weekend trip? Maybe 🏰 #historicallandmarks #Castle #england #windsor #weekendgetaway #tourist
Windsor with Bill
I highly recommend eating at Bill’s when in Windsor. Windsor is the place where you must have an afternoon tea, but with rising costs, this can be very expensive. At Bill’s the avocado toast was £10.95 and a cream tea+ tea/coffee was £6.95.
It’s right inside the station too so if there is a spot of rain, take shelter at bill’s and you can have a 2 course meal for under £20!
There are not many places that this is possible on a weekend anymore so highly recommend #windsor #england #uk #localguides

A peaceful escape.
Windsor Nature Park, located in the bustling city of Singapore, is a serene oasis that offers a peaceful escape from the city’s fast-paced lifestyle. This spectacular nature park boasts some of the most pristine green spaces, with beautiful hiking trails and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
I recently spent an afternoon at Windsor Nature Park and it was a truly relaxing experience. I arrived to the park greeted by the sounds of nature. The sound of flowing water, chirping birds, and rustling leaves instantly melted away my stressful thoughts and I was filled with a sense of peace.
The park offers fun and unique things for visitors to explore. The boardwalk over the marshes is fascinating and gives you an up-close look at the creatures that call the swampy waters home. The tree-top walkway, which winds its way through the dense rainforest, is another highlight of the park. Walking along this trail, high above the trees, I felt like I was in my own little world.
The park has diverse wildlife, and I enjoyed watching some colorful native birds and butterflies that landed nearby. The purity of the air and the fresh green smell of the trees added to the calming experience. Walking through Windsor Nature Park, I felt my heart rate slowing down as I absorbed the peacefulness around me.
Overall, my visit to Windsor Nature Park was an excellent stress buster. The peaceful and serene environment of the park provided a much-needed escape from the mundane and fast-paced routine of city life. Windsor Nature Park is a perfect example of how spending time in natural surroundings can enhance your mental and physical well-being. I highly recommend a visit to this green haven that Singapore is fortunate to have.#windsor nature park
