About us

Green Visions is an Ecotourism and outdoor adventure tour operator based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Founded in 2000, Green Visions’ unique blend of responsible eco and adventure tourism and community development has made it a leading authority in sustainable tourism development in BiH. To date, we have guided thousands of guests throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina’s and the Western Balkans' most magnificent places. Our aim is not only to promote eco-friendly tourism but to spur a positive image change of BiH and the Western Balkans to our European neighbors. We have maintained a high level of quality customer service while adhering to our environmental principles and supporting small locally owned businesses and the rural communities they support. Green Visions has received media attention, both nationally and internationally for: 1. Pioneering Bosnia and Herzegovina’s first eco-tourism and environmental protection organization 2. Writing the first English language travel guide to Bosnia and Herzegovina 3. Providing over 3,000 safe, unique, and professionally guided eco-outdoor adventure tours to the wildest and pristine areas of BiH and the western Balkans. 4. Training youth, businesses, and communities in tour & mountain guiding, responsible & ecotourism, ecology, product development and the importance of environmental awareness. 5. Developing and promoting the Via Dinarica long-distance trail (www.via-dinarica.org) from Slovenia to Albania and Macedonia. 6. Creating and coordinating the activities of the Via Dinarica Alliance, a regional network of outdoor adventure organizations and tourism businesses operating along the Via Dinarica trail in 8 countries in the Western Balkans. 7. Becoming the Independent Representatives for Green Destinations Awards and Certification Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina
