🚀It's been a busy last quarter for the Renewstable Barbados Project team and with no signs of us slowing down we hit the road again. This time, to meet with our friends, at the City of Bridgetown Credit Union for another stakeholder engagement session. 🏦The Six Roads Branch of the Credit Union, is located near the project site, so in addition to discussing equity opportunities we had the opportunity to discuss concerns related to the environmental and social risks and our planned mitigating measures. 👥 We were happy to be joined by the COB team which included: Mr. Glendon Belle -Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Suzanne Brice-Haynes- Branch Manager- Six Roads, Mrs. Evelina King-Harper-Executive Secretary, Mr. Mark Odle- Deputy Chief Technology Officer and Mr. Marcus Myers- Marketing Manager . 💵RSB is a USD $165 million investment project and with local investment flagged as priority action for the project team. This one-on-one session allowed us to continue local investment discussions with the Credit Union. 🤝We look forward to working closely with the COB Credit Union team in the upcoming months to advance local investment into the RSB project while also addressing any likely environmental and social concerns once we move into the project construction phase. Be sure to stay tuned to learn more about what's upcoming with the RSB project 🙂!! #GreenHydrogen #RenewableEnergy #Barbados #Local Investment #Local Participation #HDFEnergy #CleanEnergyTransition

  • 📣 It’s official! We are pleased to announce that HDF CARIBBEAN has opened its regional office, headquartered on the beautiful South Coast of Barbados!   🎉 We recently celebrated this significant achievement and had the honour of welcoming Senator the Honourable Lisa Cummins, Minister of Energy and Business Development, Her Excellency Malgorzata Wasilewska, EU Ambassador, and Captain Don G. CHEE-A-TOW, Honorary Consul of France, to our Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. Their presence underscored the importance of the collaboration between Barbados, France, and the EU in advancing regional energy security & resilience through the integration of tailor-made largescale infrastructure projects.   🤝 Our journey began six years ago, and since then HDF Energy has successfully developed some of the world's hydrogen references in the French Antilles, in the Eastern Caribbean we began with a bold vision to drive innovation and empower the region with advanced green hydrogen power solutions.   🗣 VP of the US and Caribbean Thibault MENAGE, in his remarks at the ceremony, shared: “Today’s regional office launch signals HDF Energy’s tangible commitment to continue to invest in innovative projects and regional talents to bolster our decarbonisation efforts across the Caribbean region. HDF Caribbean's regional team is actively developing a pipeline of close to 1 billion USD worth of infrastructure projects for power and industry.”   🍾 We were also delighted to be joined by several distinguished guests for the opening of our new office, including Ms. Carina Cockburn, IADB Country Representative; Mr. Daniel Best, PMP President of the Caribbean Development Bank; Mr. Mauricio Nicholls, CEO of RUBIS Eastern Caribbean; Mr. Glendon Belle, CEO of City of Bridgetown Credit Union; and Mr. Adam Carter, Managing Director & Head, Investment Banking, CIBC. • 📢 We are thrilled to announce that our Renewstable Barbados (RSB) project - the first green hydrogen power plant in the Eastern Caribbean; has been granted its Independent Power Producer (IPP) license!    🚀 This milestone brings us closer to our target of delivering clean and stable energy 24/7 to Barbadian homes. RSB alone will allow to increase the locally sourced renewable energy penetration by over 60% compared to current levels, without introducing any intermittency issues on the grid.   🌿 Minister of Energy and Business, Senator Lisa Cummins has described this development as a regional game-changer, emphasizing the critical role of regional collaboration in driving renewable energy innovation and sustainability. 🇧🇧 As the Caribbean transitions to local renewable energy systems, initiatives like RSB will pave the way for energy independence and technology knowledge transfer regionally. This further positions Barbados as a regional leader in renewable energy integration and innovative technology deployment for grid decarbonisation.   ⚡ The RSB project in partnership with RUBIS Eastern Caribbean combines solar power, battery, and green hydrogen Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) to provide stable, carbon-free electricity. RSB sets a new benchmark for sustainable energy across the region and underscores the role green hydrogen will play to improve energy systems resilience in Small Island Developing States.   Stay tuned as HDF Energy continues to build a brighter future for the Caribbean region ! https://lnkd.in/eEREksCM https://lnkd.in/eaRdFFBa #GreenHydrogen #RenewableEnergy #Barbados #HDFEnergy #CleanEnergyTransition

  • 🎶 "Brown paper packages, tied up with strings, these are a few of my favorite things..." 🎶 1965 The Sound of Music Well not quite paper and not quite string but Julie Andrews knew what she was singing about! ✂️ For the past few months the planning and design of our office has been happening alongside our regular work. We are now at the point of blurred lines between weekend and weekday and yes our 3 C's.... coffee, croissants and cheese! ☕ 🥐 🧀 We are two days away from formally opening our Barbados office, and the regional team is waist deep in boxes and bags, digital demos, and a burgeoning sense of sobriety. The faces in the pictures don't communicate the sleepless nights but there are those as well. We are here, and as we face the eager anticipation of the launch on Tuesday 26th, we end with another memorable musical quote closer to our newfound home; "Work, work, work, work, work, work!" We hear you Rihanna. #Innovation #SustainableFuture #BarbadosToTheWorld

🇫🇷🤝🇲🇦 A historic and emotional moment during French President Emmanuel Macron's State visit to Morocco last week! 🌍 HDF Energy, represented by Hanane EL HAMRAOUI and Damien Havard, was honored and proud to be part of the official delegation accompanying French President Emmanuel Macron as he met with His Majesty King Mohamed VI, representing our role as a key player in the hydrogen industry. This invitation marks a major milestone for our company and underscores the growing importance of hydrogen as a pillar in the energy transition. 💧⚡During this visit and in response to Morocco's tender for renewable energy projects, we presented our Nasem Sahara Morocco (NSM) project in Dakhla. Powered by the region's abundant solar and wind resources, this plant is set to produce some of the world’s most competitive green hydrogen and its derivatives in the heart of the Sahara, contributing not only to the region’s energy future but also to a new chapter in Franco-Moroccan relations. This significant project reflects the economic cooperation potential between France and Morocco, built on the Moroccan authorities’ recognition of the Sahara. 🤝 The State visit also offered valuable and constructive exchanges with leaders from both countries. We had the privilege of meeting Morocco's Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development,Leila Benali, PhD., the Minister of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, Karim Zidane, as well as French officials, including President Macron, Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Antoine Armand, Delegate Minister for Energy, Olga Givernet and French Ambassador in Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier. 🙏 Thanks to the teams who made this event possible and to all our partners who share our vision of a greener future for the Sahara and beyond! This State visit represents a pivotal moment in the shared history of our two nations, heralding a new era of collaboration driven by renewable energy and hydrogen. HDF Energy is more committed than ever to this promising new chapter! #GreenHydrogen #EnergyTransition #Dakhla #GreenEnergy #FranceMoroccoCooperation Service Économique Régional de Rabat, Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development - Kingdom of Morocco Ministère des Affaires étrangères français SECRETARIAT D'ETAT AUPRES DU MINISTERE DE L'EUROPE ET DES AFFAIRES ETRANGERES
