#Fibrebased packaging is derived from #renewable materials and made of virgin and recycled fibres that can be reused multiple times. At 4evergreen, members have forged a path for all companies in our sector to design, produce, collect, and recycle #packaging more efficiently ♻️ As our industry evolves and demands increase, companies introducing new types of packaging must be aware of the impact of each material they use, how it can be recycled, and the complexities of collecting and #sorting. 🧰 Do you want to learn more? 🌍♻️ Bright Perspectives for Circular Paper Packaging! At the #Ingede Symposium 2025 in Munich, our Dr. Johannes Zipfel joined 150 industry experts to discuss the future of paper recycling. He presented on a key challenge: creating highly effective water barriers for paper packaging—while ensuring full recyclability. The solution? Design for Recycling! By leveraging the recyclability evaluation protocol of the 4evergreen alliance and advanced material development, we can optimize barrier properties without compromising recyclability. Targeted innovation and collaboration between material developers and recyclers are essential to making circular, high-performance paper packaging a reality. The future is circular, bright, and built on strong partnerships! 🚀 Let’s drive sustainable packaging forward—together. #Recycling #CircularEconomy #SustainablePackaging #Innovation #PaperRevolution #Delsci #delfort #Cepi

Design is our first opportunity to drive #circularity! Yet, not all packaging designers know which materials are more easily recycled. ♻️ To help them make the right choices, 4evergreen has produced the ‘Circularity by Design’ guideline for #fibrebased packaging, last updated in October 2024. This important document was developed by packaging and sustainability experts from companies acting across the entire supply chain. It provides recommendations on how design choices can impact different recycling processes. Download it here: https://lnkd.in/ejzUZH7W

📰 4evergreen was featured in The Parliament magazine! The latest article by MEP Salvatore De Meo highlighted how "fibre-based #packaging is an example of how sustainable materials can align with circular economy objectives without sacrificing convenience or quality". With a recycling rate of 83.2% in Europe, it’s already leading the way in #sustainability. However, to realise its full potential, we need stronger collaboration between industries, policymakers, and waste management sectors. The 4evergreen alliance is aiming for a 90% recycling rate by 2030. To get there, we must: 🔎 Standardise waste collection and recycling systems across the EU. 🔎 Upgrade recycling facilities for better efficiency. 🔎 Design packaging that aligns with recyclability standards. Fibre-based packaging can drive both environmental and economic growth, creating jobs, reducing #climate impacts, and promoting a more resilient future.
