A+ Architecture in Belgium ziet architectuur als cultuur. Met de publicatie van een tweemaandelijks tijdschrift, een website en het organiseren van lezingen en tentoonstellingen wil A+ Architecture in Belgium de referentie zijn voor architectuur en stedenbouw in Vlaanderen en België.

A+307 Mixing & Stacking is now available! While, according to the criteria of the regional development plan, business parks and industrial estates are intended solely for research and development, production and logistics, there is a growing demand for a functional mix with other, more urban functions. Today’s economic space is a new challenge for spatial designers, and includes typological studies resulting in projects such as urban stacking or other practices that encourage a mix of activities. A+ is looking into several stacking projects. Read or oder a copy: https://lnkd.in/e6Rr6rSP

A+ Architecture in Belgium and Bozar are pleased to invite you to the thematic double lecture 'Building with local materials', with Martin Rauch and BC architects & studies & materials. The lecture will take place on April 2, 2024, at a different location than usual: Auditorium 490 - Royal Museums of Fine Arts (Museumstraat 5, 1000 Brussels). Originally from Austria, Martin Rauch always had a passion for using natural materials in his projects. Trained as a ceramist, he specialised in building with clay and founded his own studio Lehm Ton Erde in 1999. Since 2010, Martin Rauch has shared his expertise as honorary professor of the UNESCO Chair for 'Earthen Architecture'. He will present a number of emblematic projects, including his own house in Schlins, designed together with Roger Boltshauser. Like Martin Rauch, the Brussels-based firm BC architects & studies & materials has been working since 2009 with an integrated approach covering all aspects of the building process, from design to research and the production of specific materials. BC will present the Woodstock project, a holiday home by a river in the Ardennes built entirely with local, natural materials and through innovative techniques.

A+306 Building for Culture is out! Cities are investing massively in cultural infrastructures such as the MUHKA in Antwerp, the Smak in Ghent, the new Jean Vilar Theater in Louvain-la-Neuve or the Beer Museum in the former Stock Exchange building in Brussels. What exactly are these emblematic new buildings, and how are they reshaping the city? What is the architecture of today's cultural infrastructure, and how does it relate to existing urban marketing strategies? A+ examines the architecture of new cultural buildings, analyzing how they not only change the face of the city, but also give it a new identity. More info: https://lnkd.in/eZukNe_7
