As a startup founder, you’re always looking for momentum - the right product-market fit, the first big clients, the right investors. But getting there takes more than just a great idea. It takes structure, strategy, and, most importantly, the right people around you. For me, joining the 14th cohort of the Birdhouse program was a real game-changer. It accelerated the validation of our product-market fit, leading to our first sales. More than that, it completely transformed our pitch and funding strategy, which ultimately resulted in a successful seed round. One of the biggest lessons I took away? You are always pitching. A Transformative Journey : From Mastermind to finding my Authentic Voice For years, I saw myself as a mastermind, who loved to work behind the scenes, but when it came to sharing our breakthroughs with the world, fear took over. However, throughout the last year, a transformational shift started to happen. Almost as if it was pre-destined, I kept being invited to speak about the groundbreaking technology we have been developing at Tenbeo. Key highlights : 1️⃣ In February, Hunter Tanous kindly invited us at Google Breakout Room at SuperNova , where I totally butchered my presentation. In the span of two minutes, my demo did not go as planned and it totally un-settled me, leading me to forget the rest of my speech 🔪😶 2️⃣ In March, our amazing partner Krista Kim invited me to share Tenbeo's Inception Story with a group of leading business women at Julius Baer's Private Lounge at Art Dubai. I was in the back room, ensuring that operations were smooth for Heart Space activation and, with just a phone call, here I was, leaving my comfort place and talking in front of an incredible audience ( Thankfully I was not in my usual jeans/top combo 🙈 ) 3️⃣ Between the month of April and June, we got selected for Birdhouse Accelerator in Belgium where we focused on specific monthly topics from : 🟢 Product Market Fit 🟢 Financial Modeling for Scale 🟢 The Art of Storytelling 4️⃣ In October, Djenane Liasse invited us to speak at Google Startup Village during Odoo Conference in Brussels, and this time, we nailed it. As the saying goes '' failing the first time is just a stepping stone toward being better the second time" 📈 5️⃣ In November, winning Draper University Hero Program, dressed as Bat Girl (Security Hero) was the yearly epitome of my identity evolution, as I now see the stage as a platform, to touch people's hearts and minds 🦸♀️ 💜 🫶 Conclusion 🫶 🪴 The beauty of entrepreneurship is that it’s not about perfection. It’s about constant growth. As my friend Teddy Pahagbia recently shared, '' as entrepreneurs, we are not just building our startups, we are building ourselves in the process''. ✨ By being on stage, I discovered that our voice is a unique bridge to create meaningful connections. When you speak your truth — when you let your authentic self shine through every word — the world around you vibrate in unison. When I started Birdhouse nearly a decade ago, the mission was simple: to help ambitious founders grow, scale, and succeed. Fast forward to today, and we’re already gearing up for the 17th cohort of our program - a milestone that speaks volumes about the journey we’ve been on. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of startups, connecting them with world-class mentors, advisors, and investors.
