Exciting news of extending our finance and supply chain services to exporters of other agri products, starting with carrots from Colombia to USA! 🚀 🚀 🚀
✨ It's amazing to see the expansion of Almacena Platform beyond coffee with the introduction of new verticals. Surprisingly, the first new product is carrots! We are thrilled to announce our support in financing Colombian exports of carrots to the US.
More news and products to come soon.
✨ A big shout out to Andres Gaviria, Yeny Rey, and Iñigo Aresti for their contributions. #almacenaplatform#supplychain#fintech for food
Currently on Almacena, we execute a new funding deal in coffee every 1.5 days. Most of the requests are for back-to-back FOB transactions presented by origin country exporters selling to international traders. Payment terms in CAD vary widely, with top payers processing as fast as 7 days, while others take up to 25 days after receiving the documents.
If you are a FOB trader, these payment delays can be a serious limitation to growing your volumes as you need to finance those days yourself.
Not surprisingly, FOB exporters tend to award more business to the faster payers. The top payers (7 days or faster) represent 20% of the buyers but receive 50% of the business.
Interested in unlocking more coffee trades? Reach out to a team member or register via our website to learn how we can help streamline your transactions and facilitate smoother trade operations.

☕ Colombia´s Coffee Legacy: A Journey of Flavor and Diversity!
📽 🎞 Colombia's coffee industry boasts a rich history spanning centuries, marked by the cultivation of a diverse range of coffee varieties. Historically, Colombia's coffee production relied on traditional varieties like Typica, Bourbon, and Caturra, which formed the backbone of the country's industry from colonial times through the 20th century. These varieties helped Colombia establish itself as a global coffee powerhouse, renowned for its high-quality Arabica beans.
🍃 🍂 To overcome challenges such as coffee leaf rust, Colombian researchers introduced the Castillo variety in the late 20th century. Designed for disease resistance without compromising flavor, this innovation reinforced Colombia's resilience and underscored its commitment to sustainable farming practices .
😎 In response to evolving consumer tastes, Colombia has embraced exotic coffee varieties in recent years. Notably, the Geisha variety has garnered widespread acclaim for its complex flavor profile featuring floral and fruity notes 🍉 🍓 🍋 🌺 . Additionally, other exotic varieties such as Pacamara, SL28/SL34, and Java have been carefully introduced and assessed for their potential to enhance Colombia's coffee portfolio.
👏 Today, alongside its traditional offerings, Colombia cultivates a diverse range of exotic varieties in select regions. These unique coffees contribute to Colombia's reputation for excellence, each showcasing distinct flavors and characteristics. Colombia's unwavering dedication to innovation and quality solidifies its position as a global leader in the coffee industry, esteemed for its diversity, sustainability, and exceptional coffee offerings.
