Yesterday, we started our day with a meeting at the brand-new Motel One Group in Antwerp where we were treated to a delicious breakfast and an exclusive tour of the beautiful new venue. A fantastic way to kick off the day! We also had the privilege of diving into one of Antwerp’s most iconic industries during a team-building session in the heart of the diamond district!   A special thank you to Ilana Brandwain from NOBLE FINE JEWELLERY for sharing her inspiring story and insights into running an ethical and sustainable jewellery business. Ilana demonstrates how luxury and responsibility can go hand in hand, from fair sourcing to supporting local communities.   We were also fascinated to witness the meticulous work of diamond cutters, turning raw stones into sparkling masterpieces.   This experience gave us a deeper appreciation for Antwerp’s rich heritage and inspired us to think about how ethical and sustainable practices can shape the future, whether in crafting diamonds or organising world-class events.   #Antwerp truly is a city full of brilliance— setting the standard for excellence and sustainability! Drawing inspiration from Antwerp’s iconic guilds of the past, this initiative is designed to unite a new generation of visionary industry leaders. It celebrates the expertise and global connections of Antwerp’s leaders in key sectors such as port and logistics, medical innovation, chemistry, and beyond. Antwerp's Vice Mayor, Koen Kennis, emphasized the city's commitment to supporting innovation and growth in the events sector, while Tadeja Pivc Coudyser highlighted the role of industry leaders in shaping Antwerp’s future. During the panel discussion, local experts Vito Sabato, Johan Mignon and Marie-Claire van Heeswijk, moderated by Dominique Jansen, shared their insights on why #Antwerp is an excellent meeting destination. They also discussed the role of Antwerp Convention Bureau in attracting events to the city and how conferences are more than just about knowledge sharing; they can be a strategic tool for organizations. Through this program, we aim to create a vibrant community of like-minded leaders, exchange ideas, amplify Antwerp’s global influence, and shape the city’s future. We’re incredibly grateful to our ambassadors and stakeholders for their vision and dedication. Antwerp kicked off the SPRINT Robotics World Conference on Monday, October 28th, with a dynamic speed-dating session opened by Vice Mayor Koen Kennis. This pre-event demonstrated the power of international events in boosting our local economy and creating added value for our business community. As Antwerp Convention Bureau, we’re honoured to have played a central role in connecting key players like Business in Antwerp, The Beacon | Innovation Community and Port of Antwerp-Bruges to make this event possible.
