The first edition of the Arkisys and CONFERS | The Consortium for Execution of Rendezvous and Servicing Operations "ORION'S DEN" pitching competition at @SpaceTechExpo Europe 2024 was won by arcsec, a Belgian manufacturer of spacecraft ADCS components and star trackers. Arcsec won the competition with its revolutionary #DeDUST project, using its massive fleet of in-space star trackers for #SpaceDebris monitoring! Our Space Agenda TV correspondent Remco Timmermans spoke with Arcsec Head of Growth Germán Barba Castro about this great milestone, but also about the relevance of Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) and the region of Toerisme Vlaanderen - VISITFLANDERS as a European space nation! https://lnkd.in/ekAQUZnN #SpaceTechExpo #SpaceAgenda #SpaceSustainability Cc. Forget the space race. Now it’s a relay. On September 19th I attended the European Space Agency’s Industry Space Days, where 22 member states, plus Canada, the only non-European nation participating member, gathered to explore business opportunities within the space sector. It was a microcosmic view of what constitutes the space race in 2024. What I found there was a transformation of an industry where once only the largest national players with infinitely deep resources could participate. Now it’s everyone’s game. Exploring the universe now requires that cooperation trumps competition between nations and companies vying to establish our foothold in near-earth orbit and beyond. This is the story of 5 relatively small, but ambitious companies betting it all on innovation and big dreams. #Europeanspaceagency, #ESA, #Canadianspaceagency, #CSA, #SpaceIndustry, #spaceexploration, #aerospace, #spacerace
