  • What happens when climate, cities, and improv come together? A night of creativity, connection, and fresh perspectives at BeClimate Hub! 🎭 Move the City: Improv for Climate Resilience & Innovation 🌍 Through playful, spontaneous improv exercises, we explored the complexity of urban climate challenges—from air pollution to heatwaves—seeing cities as dynamic, interconnected ecosystems. Improv helped us adapt, co-create, and uncover new ways to turn risks into opportunities for regeneration and equity. A huge thank you to Monika Barcikowska, PhD and Christopher Malapitan for leading us through this energising session, and to Alessandra✨ Guion - Gambrill, Kruti Munot, Carl Lebesque Colin Reisser  Emma K. Gregor Probst and Pascale for making it happen. At BeClimate Hub, we believe in the power of experimentation and collaboration to drive climate solutions. This session reminded us that real innovation starts with stepping outside our comfort zones—and sometimes, just saying "yes, and...". 🎙️We had the pleasure of hosting Carl Lebesque from ACHA Consulting during our lunchtime #BeClimateRadio. 🎙️ In this session, we focussed on the fact that climate change already impacts a lot of businesses. Carl illustrated the physical impact with a concrete example and explained how adaptation reduces exposure or vulnerability to climate hazards.  Carl also told us about the crucial differences between climate change adaptation and mitigation: - Mitigation is a global challenge and focuses on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions being the cause of global warming, whereas - Adaptation is a local action aiming to reduce its impacts or consequences. With rising global temperatures, extreme weather will worsen, making adaptation difficult, even impossible. Thus, organizations must both adapt ("manage the unavoidable") and pursue carbon neutrality ("avoid the unmanageable"). Rising global temperatures will intensify extreme weather, making adaptation harder, perhaps impossible. Thus, organizations must both adapt ("manage the unavoidable") and pursue carbon neutrality ("avoid the unmanageable"). As a second key message, Carl explained that it is much more effective for businesses to anticipate the risks of climate change than to suffer its consequences.  By taking proactive steps, businesses can save money and protect their operations in the long run.💸 To conclude Carl outlined the four stages to effective climate adaptation :  - Analyse current resilience (using risk analysis methods like OCARA), - Assess future climate scenarios and risks, - Define a clear climate adaptation strategy and action plan, - Implement adaptation measures while monitoring climate resilience.  Thank you Carl Lebesque for sharing your expertise ! 💪 KARNO Destore KOMFOR Resolia RaYSun WellDoneDrill #ClimateMitigation #ClimateAdaptation #ClimateResilience
