  • 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐦 👑 On November 7th, the incredible athletes of Paralympic Team Belgium and Belgisch Olympisch en Interfederaal Comité were honored by Their Majesties King Filip and Queen Mathilde at the Château de Laeken. This royal recognition is a testament to the dedication, resilience and determination of our Paralympic athletes, who have represented Belgium on the world stage with pride and excellence.   During this memorable visit, athletes from the #Paris2024 #ParalympicGames and medallists from European and World Championships were personally congratulated by the King and Queen for their accomplishments over the past year. The royal audience was a moment of celebration and inspiration, highlighting not only athletic achievements but also the powerful role of sport in promoting inclusivity and unity.   We extend our sincere gratitude to Their Majesties for their support and encouragement of Paralympic sport, which plays a crucial role in empowering athletes and fostering a more inclusive society. Also a big thank you to Ministers Karine Lalieux and Jacqueline Galant for joining us in this moment.   We are also very grateful to our colleagues at Team Belgium for the excellent collaboration in organising this special day. Together, we are stronger.   #ParalympicTeamBelgium #InspirationThroughSport #RoyalRecognition #Inclusion #Resilience

𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐅𝐒𝐎 💥 We are delighted to announce that Gwenda Stevens has been elected as the new President of the International Federation for Sports Officials (IFSO). Gwenda will be taking over from Patrick Vajda, one of the founders of IFSO, who has decided not to seek another mandate. This transition was formalised at last week’s General Assembly in The Hague, Netherlands, where a new 12-member board was also elected. Gwenda Stevens, a former athlete and international rowing referee selected for the Paris 2024 Games, has dedicated her career to the development and promotion of officials in sport. Since 2017, she has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee and Chair of the BOIC Officials Commission. 🎖️ 💬Gwenda Stevens: “This project is very important to me. Along with the BOIC, we are co-founders of the IFSO and we have been putting all our energy into it. Becoming president of the IFSO was a natural step for me. I believe that we can add value to sports officials worldwide and help elevate their standing. I would like to share our example with our colleagues in the NOCs and encourage them to set up an Officials' Committee.” Gwenda will officially take up her role as President on January 1st, 2025 and she is determined to work together to promote best practice in the training of officials. • The Belgian Blind Devils are home ! Last weekend, at the Proximus Basecamp of the Royal Belgian Football Association, a blind (or '5-a-side') football pitch was officially inaugurated during a 3 nations tournament with Belgium, Greece and #Paralympic champion France. The team is the result of a great 🤝 between Royal Belgian Football Association, Paralympic Team Belgium and Ligue Handisport Francophone. Huge thanks to the RBFA for paving a new way for our team and being an example federation in terms of inclusion. Supported by #UEFA #IBSA Proximus Group

Frédérique Neuville, Expert Sport of the Brussels-Capital Region : 💬 “It was essential for us to thank them for their work and to let them enjoy the atmosphere of the #Paralympics. We wanted to give them even more energy to work on their missions that make Brussels a better place to live.“ For many of the participants, the day reinforced their conviction that sport is an essential vector of inclusion, self-improvement and well-being, whatever the level of physical ability. In addition to a VIP visit to wheelchair basketball at Berçy Arena, the delegation visited the first ever Paralympic Belgium House on the Champs Elysées - a project also made possible thanks to the support of the Brussels Region - to follow some of our para-cyclists during their time trials. Special thanks for believing in our vision that social change can start with sports Sven Gatz, Frank Lelon, Alana Herman, Frédérique Neuville Thanks also to Ligue Handisport Francophone and G-sport Vlaanderen for the support in setting up this special day. #InclusionThroughSport #Paralympics #Paris2024 With, amongst many others, CENTRE DE TRAUMATOLOGIE ET DE READAPTATION - Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie - Iriscare - IRSA - Institut Royal pour Sourds et Aveugles - Powwow - ...

🚲 Il y a 9 ans, Tim Celen remportait le trophée de l’ENGIE Talent of the Year. • Thanks ENGIE Belgium for challenging our team to take part in the #RiverCleanupchallenge. The goal of this viral action is to raise awareness amongst Belgians, together with River Cleanup and the Fondation ENGIE, of the need to protect our rivers and reduce waste. A nice way for us to think of something else than #Paris2024 for a moment 😅 In 30 minutes, we gathered a lot of waste near our offices. Mission accomplished ! Our turn to nominate our member federations G-sport Vlaanderen and Ligue Handisport Francophone 🥇 #withENGIE Vincent Verbeke - Florence Muls (She/Her) - Anne-Sophie Hugé - Hellen Smeets - Daphné Cawet - Suzanne Mioulet - Gaetano Palermo

  • A birthday with a touch of gold ✨ Paralympic Team Belgium was invited to celebrate the 200th anniversary of its gold partner AG Insurance during an amazing evening in Brussels earlier this month. Happy birthday 🎂 ! Humbled to be part of this unique moment, and happy to celebrate together with a partner that has made it possible for so many of our athletes to celebrate their own amazing victories. If this year is gold, well then we'll do what it takes to conquer as many 🥇 in #Paris2024 in a few weeks ! #AG200years Heidi Delobelle Hans De Cuyper Rob Maes frija leunens Wannes Cuypers
