With the final crops now harvested, we took one final look at the IPM Leaderboard. Throughout the challenge, the teams needed to provide advice on biological control of whitefly, based on the data they received from Trap-Eye™ in the Crop-Scanner™ web portal. The winner of the challenge will be announced on January 16th 2025 during the award ceremony in Bleiswijk, NL. 🏆 Curious about how Trap-Eye™ and Crop-Scanner™ can help you achieve your cultivation goals? #TuesdayTip Is Micromus still present in my crop? Scout for Micromus eggs low in the plant. Most female adults will find a dark, humid spot for them to lay their eggs in. Once the eggs hatch, the larvae are excellent in quickly locating aphid hot spots that might be higher up in the crop. #Micromus #Aphids #Cropprotection #Biocontrol #Biobest

#FunfactFriday Did you know that some stink bugs actually help control pests? While most stink bugs feed on plants (and many are big trouble for growers), not all of them are "bad bugs." Stink bugs in the subfamily 𝘈𝘴𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘦 are natural insect predators and play a key role in keeping plant pests under control. Take the spined soldier bug (𝘗𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘴), for example - you can spot it by the little spines on its “shoulders.” If you see one in your garden, don’t chase it away! It will feed on leaf beetle larvae, caterpillars, and other problem pests, helping to keep those pesky plant-eating insects in check. #funfact #didyouknow #stinkbugs #biobest 📷 Ward Stepman

#TuesdayTip As autumn settles in, shorter days and cooler temperatures slow down beneficial insects, making it key to keep up with your scouting efforts! 🍂🌡 Use Crop-Scanner to stay on top of population changes - especially those pesky whiteflies, which can outpace their natural enemies in cooler weather. Stay proactive to protect your crops! Reach out to your Biobest expert for more advice. #growerstip #whitefly #beneficials #ipm #scouting #monitoring #cropscanner #biobest

Happy World Sustainability Day! 🌍 A day to take a moment and reflect on the world around us, to take a step back, enjoy nature and assess our impact we made this year. One thing is clear: climate change is not a distant concept, but something we feel in our business daily. Changes in pest pressures and our continuous effort to offer our customers the best possible advice and innovations to deal with them. Changes in demand with shifts in planting dates and crop rotations. Finding alternatives to the biological resources we use, due to changes in their production cycle, or because we are looking for environmentally friendly alternatives. Facing these impacts reminds us of our mission to support sustainable crop production by providing biological alternatives to pollination and crop protection. Our goal? To help bring low-emission and healthy residue-free products to the market. We'd like to take this opportunity to be grateful and thank are colleagues, customers, suppliers, investors and all our other business partners for your hard work to make this happen! 🙏 Let’s keep the sustainability vibes strong and continue this journey together towards a greener, happier future. 🌱
