🤝 Let's welcome INDIGO Group, global leader in parking and individual mobility, to the BLUE GATE ANTWERP business park! 🏗️ The construction of a #sustainable #clustered #parking #building has started. 🏢 This multimodal hub will provide space for cars, motor vehicles and bicycles. The total footprint of the parking building will be 4,500 sqm, taking into account the levels, and we arrive at 27,000 sqm. In the first phase, 200 parking spaces will be equiped to charge electric vehicles. The building is designed to expand its charging capacity to 100% over time. 🚘 The parking building has been designed with the future in mind. Due to rapid developments in this sector, it was decided to design the parking spaces column-free in order to provide flexibility on the parking floors in case of future needs for wider or smaller parking spaces. In that same spirit numerous ambitious objectives were defined: ✅ #Embodiedcarbon of maximum 240 kg CO2-eq. per sqm ✅ ESPA approval with a minimum score of 200 out of 300 points ✅ #CO2neutrality by 2050 So yes, mobility and sustainability go together. Thank you Johan Maes! 👋 Recently Johan Maes, on behalf of DEME Group, was waved off as BGAD Chairman on the Board of Directors for BLUE GATE ANTWERP business park. 👉 He led the DEME-Bopro consortium on the PPS procedure since 2012. The annual World Cleanup Day did not go unnoticed at BGA either. Around 30 volunteers helped at BLUE GATE ANTWERP business park to clean up the present litter and fly-tipping waste. Organising such clean-up action within the construction and ongoing management of a #sustainable business park adds significant value by: ✅ reducing #environmentalimpact ✅ promoting community involvement ✅ enhancing the #brandawareness and sustainability image of the park ✅ and promoting long-term sustainable practices 👏 Special thanks to the non-profit organisation Mooimakers who motivated by provideing the necessary support materials (pincers, rubbish bags,…), as well as to Stad Antwerpen for removing the ±27 full rubbish bags on site. 🚴 Are you into a bike ride on the edge of Antwerp? Blue Gate Antwerp is the place to be! 🚴 ℹ️ Excited to inform you that BGA removed the site fences for the public domain. The final works are still ongoing but these works are not a barrier to road users, especially cyclists so we will open up the public domain and the entire cycle path and in particular, the cycle path through the green corridor and along the Leigracht in line with the new Kruger Bridge. 🆕 NEW SETTLER BLUE GATE ANTWERP business park: 🏗️ Herfurth Group will soon operate from a new warehouse complex with offices build by Montea next to the Amazon building on the d'Herbouvillekaai. 👌 Herfurth Group sees BLUE GATE ANTWERP business park as hub for their strong growth ambitions as they want to offer sustainable and customized logistics to enable their customers to market their products in a sustainable way. 1️⃣ This new settler thoughtfully chose his location. Here at BLUE GATE ANTWERP business park they’re uniting all their employees in Belgium at one place close to both the port and the city of Antwerp. 🚧 The new building will contribute both in terms of construction and climate to an increase in quality and the #wellbeing of their employees. It will be BREEAM Excellent certified. To minimise the LCA of the new logistics building, the traditional structure of concrete and/or steel has been replaced by a thorough timber construction in CLT regarding the office spaces. 🧐 Which interesting companies, innovative people, eco-effective start-ups and sustainable groups join our site actually? How do we make a match between the site and an establishment? During the marketing phase BGAD is looking for companies that can identify with the sustainable philosophy of Blue Gate Antwerp. 🧠 They are companies that want to move in the direction of the circular economy together. To simplify and objectify the ‘match-making process’, the identification tool developed by Bopro is used. This assesses whether businesses can create significant sustainable added value by locating on the site. It also evaluates the potential for synergies with other establishments or nearby businesses. Businesses are retained or not, based on the assessment achieved in the identification tool. The questions addressed in the identification tool are based on the three key objectives of the Blue Triangle: - #Site – Synergy on the spot: are there potential synergies with other businesses on and around the site? - #Building – Circular building: to what extent will a sustainable building be erected? - #Business activity – Circular business model: is there a commitment to a sustainable and circular economy? Two types of companies can typically be distinguished: 1) the front runners who lead by example in terms of sustainability, innovation and circularity, and 2) the fast followers who have a match with various common interests and set sustainable ambitions with an accompanying roadmap. 👋 A match between public and private, we are "BGAD": Blue Gate Antwerp Development The form of cooperation that brought BGAD together had previously borne fruit. 🍊 The members of our Public-Private Partnership (PPP) structure share an ambition to turn the previously heavily contaminated petroleum site into a liveable, economically viable part of the city. The combined efforts of public and private players have provided a solution to such a complex long-term project. Our public players consistently monitor the relevance of our project. In addition to their specific expertise in sustainable site development, our private actors also introduced an entrepreneurial spirit. 🤝 In combination, this integrated approach, the diversity of disciplines and the necessary political backing all lead to a successful conclusion.
