Belgium's national airline, offering flights out of Brussels Airport to Europe, Middle East, North Atlantic and Africa

About us

Brussels Airlines is the home carrier of Belgium and one of the four network airlines of the Lufthansa Group. It connects the European capital from Brussels Airport with over 85 destinations, 17 of which are in Sub Saharan Africa. The company employs 3,100 people and operates 41 aircraft. Brussels Airlines aims to emit 50% less CO2 by 2030 compared to 2019 and plans to be carbon neutral by 2050. The airline is participating in the Stargate Project led by Brussels Airport and is therefore part of the testing ground for sustainable aviation at its home base. In addition, the airline signed the Circular Economy agreement of the Antwerp Management School in 2021. In 2023, Brussels Airlines welcomes three state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo allowing the airline to significantly lower its CO2- and noise-emissions on its medium-haul network. Next to that, the airline aims to operate its first flight using Sustainable Aviation fuel (SAF) by 2023. As an ambassador of its country, Brussels Airlines brings the world to Belgium and the best of Belgium to the world, among others through collaborations with Belgian Star Chefs, Belgian culinary products and the Belgian Icons, specially painted aircraft that honor a Belgian iconic person, team or event to promote Belgian culture worldwide.

  • Share #Respect! Be an Ally! We’re proud to share a powerful initiative from the Lufthansa Group. Many of us are confronted with sexism, racism, or any other form of discrimination throughout our lives. At Brussels Airlines, it is our core ambition to make everyone feel at home, no matter who you are, where you come from or what your walk of life is. 👇

Share #Respect! Be an Ally! That is the leitmotif of our internal campaign supported by Lufthansa Group Human Rights Officer Robert: #Respect - For diversity. Against discrimination. In the past months, employees of the Lufthansa Group have shared their personal stories on that matter. Thank you all for being so open, vulnerable and speaking up 👏 ! Let’s meet our protagonists: Purser Dominique is committed to fighting racism and discrimination. Brussels Airlines Technician Christel speaks about her transition. Pamela from Lufthansa Technik Milan is working hard to give invisible disabilities more visibility. Detlef and Marlene from Lufthansa Technik are a strong team across all age boundaries. Equal Opportunities Officer Timotheus shares his experiences after coming out as queer and on how the Lufthansa Group Network #Diversifly supported him. Ute from Lufthansa InTouch is committed to inclusion and wants to encourage applicants with disabilities. Oliver from Lufthansa Group Business Services works in psychosocial counseling and takes a stand against sexism as an ally. HR Manager Mohamed stands up against stereotyping prejudices because of his own story. On today’s #InternationalHumanRightsDay we want to share all that with you as well. We want to take a stance for diversity and against discrimination. Freedom from discrimination is a human right. And respect is more than just a word. It is an attitude and a mindset for our interaction with each other. As allies, we can stand by marginalized people, stand up against discrimination and harassment. It is about not meeting others with stereotypical ideas, actively promoting inclusion, respecting boundaries, not leaving a sexist comment uncommented ... and so much more. #Respect … … stands against racism … supports all love … treats all genders equally … celebrates all ages … breaks down barriers … is not a question of beliefs … honors boundaries Our most important connection is #Respect.

  • Teamwork makes the dream work! 😍 We’re thrilled to be named the World’s Best Airline by AirHelp, based on on-time performance, customer feedback, and claim processing. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to be the most reliable airline, consistently ranking among the top in on-time performance. And when things go wrong, our customer service teams go the extra mile to make it right. There’s always room to improve—every delayed or canceled flight is one too many. But today, let’s celebrate this achievement. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing teams—pilots, cabin crew, technicians, airport staff, and office colleagues. This is your success. Here’s to you! 🥂💗
