Launched today, our Annual Review of the Human Rights Situation of LGBTI People in Europe and Central Asia confirms that we are entering a new era where LGBTI people have become the testing ground for laws that erode democracy itself. Across Europe and Central Asia, governments are using anti-LGBTI rhetoric to justify restrictions on free speech, civil society, and fair elections. What begins as an attack on LGBTI rights rapidly grows into a wider assault on the rights and freedoms of all individuals in society. “This is not just an LGBTI issue; it is a crisis for human rights and democracy as a whole,” says our Executive Director, Chaber. • In response to rising antisemitic violence, we have united with major European Jewish partners since 2019 to drive systemic change - from grassroots initiatives to policy-making. The NOA project supports EU Member States in developing national action plans with: 🔹 Educational tools & training for communities, schools, and public authorities 🔹 Social media campaigns & cultural events to challenge antisemitism 🔹 Report Cards to track progress in combating hate The word "noa" means "in motion", symbolizing a movement toward a safer, thriving Jewish life in Europe. Through policy and practice, security and education, we can reverse the tide of antisemitism together. 📽️ Watch our short trailer below! #NOAProject #FightingAntisemitism #JewishLife

#News from our member Fondazione CDEC! During 2024, the CDEC Foundation’s Observatory on Antisemitism received 1,381 reports. After careful analysis, 877 of them were categorised as incidents of #antisemitism. ‼️ The figures for 2024 (877) are almost double those recorded in 2023 (454), which already constituted a peak that had never been reached since. 📊 600 incidents concern antisemitism on the Internet, 2 incidents occurred both online and offline, while 277 consist of acts that happened physically, including 8 assaults. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has created in Italy a climate of social acceptance for prejudice and stereotypes against Jews that has not been experienced since the end of World War II. Read the annual report on antisemitism in Italy 2024 below.
