🌍 Day 2 at ICODSIP – Inspiring Conversations and Collaborative Energy! 🌍 We kicked off Day 2 with a networking session in the Salón de Grados, diving into innovative ideas and valuable proposals around EU funding programmes. The enthusiasm from yesterday’s opening day was matched by insightful presentations on digital skills frameworks and initiatives from across the globe. Highlights from Track 2 sessions: ✅ Reboot Skills explored co-designing strategies to align digital skills with job market demands. ✅ Botswana’s ambitious steps with a new Digital Competence Framework. ✅ The SME Digital Maturity accelerator programme, fostering growth through partnerships with the University of Botswana Innovation Centre. ✅ An in-depth look at EU digital skills evaluation and a cross-country literacy comparison with https://lnkd.in/eRGxmWnP. After a refreshing coffee break, we gathered for a compelling panel on Female Talent in IT, moderated by Raquel Lacuesta, featuring Alena Kanabová, Covadonga Rodrigo, and Begonia Vazquez Merayo, who shared inspiring insights on empowering women in tech. Our final project presentations provided a global perspective, from EdTech Talents to tailored digital skills initiatives for refugees in Germany, supporting employability and integration. It’s been a fantastic experience connecting, learning, and exploring the future of digital competencies together. Looking forward to the next steps!

Registration has opened for the first International Conference on Digital Skills and IT Professionalism, jointly organised by CEPIS and ATI. The conference will take place on 14 and 15 November at the University of Alcalá in Alcalá de Henares, near Madrid, Spain. Combining presentations of academic papers and European projects with engaging panel sessions on IT professionalism, digital skills, and diversity in the profession, the conference will bring together a broad range of key stakeholders. 📢 Exciting news! Yesterday, the European Commission announced over 100 companies as the first signatories of the EU AI Pact, marking a significant step forward in responsible AI development across Europe! 🇪🇺🤖 Signatories include multinational corporations and innovative SMEs in diverse sectors like IT, healthcare, automotive, banking, and more. By joining the Pact, these companies are making voluntary commitments to uphold the principles of the upcoming AI Act ahead of its official implementation, ensuring a proactive and responsible approach to AI governance. Core commitments: 1️⃣ Developing an AI governance strategy to align with the AI Act. 2️⃣ Mapping high-risk AI systems within their operations. 3️⃣ Promoting AI literacy and ethical development among employees. 💡 Beyond these commitments, over half of the signatories have taken additional pledges around human oversight, risk mitigation, and transparency, including clear labeling of AI-generated content like deepfakes.
