📢🌱 The end of 2024 was busy for Belgium I3S with the sampling and measuring of the cover crop trials sown on each LCF in the project. ⚖️ The samples are weighed and dried by species for each cover crops to measure the biomass and to estimate the various elements that will be returned to the soil during cover crops decomposition. Interesting first day attending the #carbonfarmingsummit. Greater clarity is needed for farmers about how a scheme in Ireland might operate and what it would entail. Well done to Natasha Browne giving a great overview of the cocreation creative arena workshops carried out within the ClieNFarms project. And well done to Niamh Phelan who outlined the new micro learning tools developed within ClieNFarms

ARVALIS est aujourd’hui à Dublin pour participer au 2e European carbon farming summit. 🌱 Les partenaires du projet européen ClieNFarms ont en effet saisi l’opportunité de proposer une session pour présenter leurs travaux sur l’agriculture bas carbone à un large public européen. Dans cette session, le travail des instituts techniques français a été largement mis en avant : ▶️ Célia RUAU (Agrosolutions) a pu présenter l’outil #CarbonExtract, nourri notamment par les travaux d’ARVALIS, Terres Inovia et ITB sur le Label Bas Carbone grandes cultures (calcul des émissions de gazs à effet de serre) et l’outil AMG (calcul du stockage de carbone dans les sols). ▶️ Anaïs L'Hôte (Institut de l'Elevage (idele)) a pu présenter la plateforme « Farming for Climate » qui rassemblera les connaissances issues des projets européens ClieNFarms, Climate Farm Demo et ClimateSmartAdvisors et dont la création est sous le leadership d’IDELE avec Florence Bedoin et Caroline Evrat Georgel. ▶️ Laurène Lebelt (Climate KIC) a pu présenter les travaux menés par Terres Inovia, ITB et Arvalis dans les cadre des I3S du projet ClieNFarms et leur accompagnement de groupes d’agriculteurs pour la mise en œuvre de pratiques bas carbone sur leur exploitation. Delighted to present and partake in a panel discussion at the EU Carbon Farming Summit in Dublin, in the session on "Learnings from research and feedback from the field: how to put in place carbon farming on a farm? What levers and barriers?"
