From trash to treasure. Out of the 108 sustainable initiatives we proposed for ING Rotterdam, one of the most memorable was… plastic fishing in the Maas. The ING Rotterdam team, standing on the riverside, was pulling out kilos of plastic waste and even hauled out a 20-kilo traffic block from the water. The teamwork, determination, and laughs brought everyone closer, and it’s an experience that still sparks stories back at the office. The collected plastic was ground down and repurposed into the floor and wall panels in their new office! A lasting reminder of their impact on a cleaner Rotterdam. How did we achieve a Building Circularity Index score of 69% at ING Rotterdam? They wanted to turn a café into both a social spot and their company headquarters. The challenge? We had only three months to bring this vision to life.
