A few weeks ago, our colleague Karl Sofinowski had the pleasure of presenting at a study day organized by VOM - Beyond treatment of surfaces. He shared insights from the WINGS project on "Electrostatic Coating for High-Precision Forging of Compressor Blades." In this project, CRM Group explores the advantages of using automated electrostatic spray coating to apply ceramic layers during high-precision forging. These coatings are essential for protecting surfaces from damage and ensuring optimal metal flow during forging. The ultimate goal? Minimizing post-forging machining steps by achieving a homogeneous and reproducible coating on complex shapes. 🔍 Karl presented results from campaigns conducted at CRM Group using a robotized electrostatic rotating bell spray system, demonstrating how this innovative method meets the strict demands of the aerospace industry. 📄 For more details, read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eykDvbZY Are you interested in this subject?
